Esme and I decided to ditch the rest of the school day. We went to the store to grab some necessities, like ice-cream, and headed to Izzy’s house. She said her wolf was feeling sketchy, so we were on our way to cheer her up. We pulled into the driveway and hopped out of Esme's silver car. Their house was like one of the pack houses, but smaller. It was mainly to house the Alpha, Beta and their families. Esme swung open the door and stepped into the luxurious house like she owned it. “Izzy!” She screamed as we made out way up the stairs. I remember the way from the two times I’ve stayed here. I smiled at the memory, those nights were spent with Jace. Before we could even make it halfway down the hall, Izzy ran out of her room and greeted us with a bone-crushing  hug. “We bought ice-cream.” Esme sang. Izzy groaned in delight. “Thank the Goddess, my wolf was going crazy!” She explained as she walked downstairs and into the kitchen to grab spoons. She led us to what looked like the living room and threw herself on the couch to watch Netflix and flicking through movies. “Why did you guys ditch and come here?” “Come on Izzy! I would ditch you for school and Reese any day.” Esme bragged. I chucked my head back and laughed. “I second that.” A few minutes of still deciding what to watch, Esme’s phone rang. She grumbled some incoherent words as she read the caller ID. Izzy and I giggled, and she poked her tongue at us. “Yes?” She asked, a bit annoyed. “Esme? Where are you? Where did you go?” Answered a very worried Reese. She huffed in exasperation before she sarcastically answered back. “I ran away to Australia, Reese. I wanted to go see some kangaroos.” Izzy fell to the floor in silent amusement. Who knew Esme had a fantastic sense of humour.  “Esme.” Reese growled. “Fine, fine! I lied,” She paused. “I went to Russia.” Izzy couldn’t contain it anymore, she burst out loud into a fit of laughter. I was about to join when Reese asked. “Where is Anna? Jace and Danny are looking for her.” I immediately sat up, shaking my head and mouthing the word no. She smiled cynically and sweetly replied. “I have no idea. Maybe she ran off to Australia too.” Izzy rolled onto her back, clutching her stomach, apparently, she found this absolutely hilarious. Reese began to mumble words to her on the phone and she stomped out of the room rather frustratedly. Izzy sat up, wiped away her tears of joy, chucked me the remote and started to eat her ice-cream. She started to go on and on about how Aiden and Jace always change and mess up her Netflix profile when that gave me an idea. I changed Jace’s profile and renamed it ‘Bellamy’. Izzy fell back onto the floor in another moment of hysterical laughter. She was in an overly happy mood, I guess. As soon as Izzy sat up, Esme trudged into the room and planted herself on the couch rather viciously. “What happened?” I questioned, smiling. Esme crossed her arms and started to complain, not that I minded at all. Especially because it was about my brother. “It’s just, Reese thinks I’m a delicate little wolf cub that will get stung to death by bees every time I step outside. He thinks I can’t handle myself.” Izzy collapsed on the ground, giggling away as Esme narrowed her eyes. I chuckled at her happy state and turned to Esme. “You should of seen him when he was younger.” When we were little, before the rouge attack, Reese was like my protector. Even though we pushed each other around, fighting every second, he always put me first. That’s one of the things I missed about him. “It’s annoying! I am not some helpless she-wolf!” Esme yelled. Izzy sat up, only to eat another spoonful of ice-cream. “Then show him you’re not.” I said simply, shrugging my shoulders. She sunk back into the comfortable, black couch and pouted. “I’ve been holding out on him until he sees that I’m not some precious little thing that will break if I leave his sight!” She groans. I scrunch my face up in disgust. “Eww.” Esme then grabs a pillow and throws it at my face, blushing a bit. My phone pings and it’s a message from Reese. I ignore it and I turn to Esme. “Well then Esme, I am determined to help you out. Even if that means escaping my ugly brother.” I smiled determinedly at her. She smirks before she ruins it. “You look just like him though.” I grimace and it was my turn to throw a pillow at her face. We giggle and Izzy roars in uncontrollable laughter. I go back to eating my mint ice-cream when Izzy chooses to watch Glee on Netflix. She’s lucky I like to sing. We finished screaming out loud to one of the songs when we have to pause the movie because of Izzy’s giggling fit. Esme and I sit on the couch laughing at Izzy when my phone rings for the third time. It is getting irritating, so I decide to answer it. “Anna? Where are you?” Says a deep, rough voice. Even thinking about his voice makes me tingle. What the hell is wrong with me? “Didn’t Reese tell you? I ran away to Australia.” I quickly recovered.  Esme starts giggling and Izzy sat up, seeming interested in the conversation. Jace snarled through the phone and I removed it from my ear. “Don’t go growling at me, Bellamy.” I say sassily and Izzy looks at me proudly for telling Jace off. I can basically feel his anger through the bond, but it only makes me laugh more. “Calm down Jacey, I ditched with Esme.” I explain.  “Fine.” He grumbles angrily, not before finishing his sentence. “Deanna.” I bolted right up and I know for a fact he is smirking. “Hey! Shut up!” I replied too fast. “Why not? You can call me Jacey.” He said smugly. I growled in return. “But it’s impossible to not make nicknames. You practically have two different names!” I shouted. That makes him shut up. He huffs in annoyance and I laugh at him. “Awwww, is someone missing their mate?” I sing. “Whatever.” Jace replies quietly and hangs up. I laugh as I toss my phone on the couch. Esme is giggling and Izzy looked concerned. “You guys are so lucky to have mates.” She sighs and places her back on the couch. “Come on Izzy, you’ll find yours soon.” Esme encourages her and gets up off the lounge to sit next to her. “Yeah. My wolf is feeling sketchy and I don’t know why.” Izzy says, annoyed. “You never know Izzy; it could be your wolf trying to tell you something.” Esme pokes her. “Maybe, but I doubt it.” She replies. “So, what happened at school today?” She asks, changing the subject. “My best friend Danny joined school today, he’s being a pain though.” I rolled my eyes. Esme seemed to read my mind . “Yeah, he already told us that Anna got arrested once.” Izzy sat up and Esme was laughing at me. I scowled playfully at her and Izzy started to question me. “Arrested? When? Why?” She looked surprised. “Don’t looked so shocked.” I waved her off. “I was 16, it was for assault.” I grinned. I retold the story of some wretched she-wolf that mouthed off to one my friends and I handled it. Too bad she was human. We were all chatting, talking about school when Esme turned to Izzy, looking very concerned. “Izzy, Jace lost his temper today.” She said quietly, speaking like she had to inform her. Izzy frowned and turned towards me. I instantly stilled, remembering how scary Jace was. He was so brutal and violent; it did frighten me to see him like that. Esme explained how Aiden tried to take care of it, but I got there in the end. “I’m so glad you got there on time Anna.” Izzy placed her hand on mine. “Jace can be… Dangerous when he loses it.” She explained. I nodded, not really wanting to hear more due to Izzy pained expression. I checked the time and school was going to end soon. Esme said that we had to leave if I wanted to catch a ride home with Reese. I understand, Esme doesn’t want to deal with Reese. Laughing, we step outside the front door and I immediately feel like I’m going to freeze to death. Cold wind brushes past us and I shiver. Esme runs back inside, refusing to take the few steps to her car. She runs upstairs to steal a jacket from Izzy when I find myself stopping in front of a familiar, dark oak door. I turn the handle and I walk into the room, Jace’s room. Smiling, I walk over to his closet and slip on a navy-blue hoodie. It was warm and big enough to reach halfway down my thighs. It smells just like him, so I decided to take another dark grey one. I slip out of the room, closing the door behind me and happily jump down the stairs, Esme’s waiting in the car and Izzy’s by the door. “Couldn’t help yourself, could you?” Izzy says playfully, grinning like mad. “Shut up. He won’t miss it.” I smugly reply and hug her goodbye. Within 15 minutes, Esme dropped me off at school and I hugged her goodbye. It was fun hanging out with her and Izzy. I didn’t really have that many friends, aside from Danny, because I moved a lot. I was blissfully leaning against Reese’s car when students started spilling from the front halls of the school. A few minutes later, I was becoming impatient and cold. But I chucked the hoodie over my head and was immediately engulfed with Jace’s scent of the forest and rain. I was busy going through my phone when I was shoved by my shoulder. I looked up to meet a mirror pair of eyes to my own. “So that’s where you went.” Reese said, smirking. “Shut up. I was visiting Izzy.” I replied as Reese unlocked his car and I quickly stepped inside his black corvette. I didn’t mention being with Esme, hopefully Jace didn’t tell him, for her sake. I also wanted to avoid my so-called mate. I didn’t want to explain why I was wearing his clothes, or why I had an extra hoodie of his stuffed in my bag. Reese started his car and I automatically plugged my phone to the aux. “How was the rest of the day with Danny?” I asked, curious to see how many best friends first day went. I couldn’t be bothered finding him because I was too lazy, and we would just start talking non-stop. “Great. He's hilarious.” Reese smiled. I chortled. “Too bad he’s a pain in the ass.” I mumbled. Reese chuckled at my sour comment and I sang loudly, all the way home. ---- - Jace's POV – I just got off the phone with Anna. She’s so difficult to deal with. Maybe because she’s basically an Alpha female. With royal blood. I groan in annoyance. She won’t tell me where she is, and she keeps calling me Bellamy and I hate it.  Maybe I don’t hate it, but still. It f*****g pisses me off to hear that name. I desperately wanted to see her after our moment near the locker room. I couldn’t help it, the prick started to talk about Anna, my own mate. How dare he disrespect his Alpha, his Luna. I should have killed him when I had the chance. Every time I think about it, it makes my blood boil to the point where I just might find him and do it anyway. But Aiden handled it. I put my phone away and joined the group of wolves again. Since it is a school for werewolves specifically, I made sure that the pack has time to train. Everyone does their own training, but this one is for the pack warriors. I was standing next to Aiden and Reese decided to join us. Danny had mentioned being a warrior and I would like to test him out one day. I didn’t mind having him on my land. He didn’t seem like a problem, he felt like any other pack member. Reese was talking to me about the pack, but my mind often drifted to Anna. So many questions flooded through my mind. Why won’t she tell me where she is? What did she think about me after the incident? What happened to her at the creek? All the little things just kept coming back. It had been a week since I've met her and a days since I've marked her. I needed to have her near me at all times, but she was making it difficult. It didn’t help when I watched her quickly get into the car with Reese after school. And most importantly, what was she wearing? I tried to get it out of my head on the drive home. All I could think about was where she had gone when she ditched. She said she was with Esme, but what she was wearing something different. I walked inside my house when I immediately say Izzy leaning against the living room door frame. “I had visitors.” She simply explained, smirking. I walked up to my room, slightly confused, and I soon as I walked in, I was engulfed by the scent of peppermint and roses. It was stale, but it was all around my room. I walked into the closet to see some of my stuff missing. So that’s where she was.  And that’s what she was wearing.  ---- - Anna's POV - I stepped through the door and was greeted by Kai. He was over energetic and very talkative. He kept blabbering on about his day with Evie and Rowan. I walked into the living room to see an exhausted Evie. “What’s up with you?” Reese asked for me. She lifted her head and smiled slightly. “This one has been running around all day since 4am this morning” She yawned, pointing at Kai. I looked down at the little cub in my arms, he still looked wide awake. He jumped from my arms and onto Reese’s shoulders, climbing on his head. Reese put him down of the ground and he bolted around the room. Evie sighed and she sat up. “Why don’t you rest, and Anna and I will look after him?” Reese offered. Evie opened her mouth to protest but I stopped her. “Don’t worry about it, no go away. Go sleep or something.” I ushered her away. She kissed my brow and left to go get Rowan from his office. I dumped my bag and sat on the couch and Kai instantly ran up to me. “Now we have to deal with you, you little monster.” I said, tickling Kai as he roared like a monster, literally. ---- After dinner, we found ourselves sitting in the small library this house had, Kai on Reese lap. He had calmed down, but not entirely tired yet. Reese was reading a picture book to Kai when I stumbled upon some old books. Being the curious person, I am, I took it from the shelf and set it in front of Reese. “I’ve read them already.” Reese said. “Of course, you have.” I replied as I flipped open the cover. My eyes widened at the title. ‘Archeron Bloodline’. I looked up at Reese to find a soft smile on his face. I returned it as I flipped eagerly through the pages. Our bloodline started from Selene, the Moon Goddess herself. I read through the book for hours, Kai was still not tired. Reese was named after King Darius, the Warrior Wolf of the Werewolves. I rolled my eyes but kept scanning. Deanna. The name was from Selene’s first daughter. Rumour has it that she could heal with her own hands. I was intrigued by our heritage; I did not know much about it. Twins, of course, was common in the family. But it would always be males, never did I see a female. I rolled my eyes at the mention of it and closed the book. I turned in my seat to see Kai laying on Reese’s chest. Looks like he finally fell asleep. Reese picked him up and placed him in his room and met me in the hallway in front of our own doors. It was around 1am. How was this kid so energetic? “Warrior King my arse.” I whispered. He chuckled, understanding what I was saying. “That’s rich coming from you, Deanna. Don’t you have the power to heal people.” He countered. I scoffed and rolled my eyes. “See you in the morning for training.” Said Reese. I grumbled a bunch of curse words. I totally forgot. Reese, the asshole, laughed at me as he closed his door. Great, now I have to get up early
