“Hands up,” the young cop barked. “Oh geez. They’ve got boners. You called us here for a couple of faggots? Where’s the damn wolf?” he snapped at Eduardo. “All I see are two homos and a crazy Mexican.” Eduardo stammered, “I saw it—it was chasing him, Jamey, el chico rojo—lo juro por Dios, un lobo grande, lo juro por Dios—” The older cop sighed and said to his partner, “No slurs, okay? Remember the training.” With his gun still trained on Jamey and Henry, he snapped at Eduardo. “What’s wrong with the lights in here? God, I’ve never heard lights make that much noise.” Eduardo’s praying got louder. Henry just wanted to find the safety of the shadows. The older cop stared and rubbed his eyes as Eduardo’s calls to Dios got even louder. “Where the hell did the kid go?” the older cop asked
