14 One would think that having had a couple years to process the fact that demons exist and the possibility of a whole other realm would be enough, but no. I was right back where I’d been when I first met Jack. I was clinging to some semblance of sanity by my fingertips, and I could feel my grasp slipping. I wanted to scream just as loudly as Michael, but if I did, then everything was lost. We would all die and be stuck in an endless circle of torment. I didn’t know how to react watching Michael fall apart or watching Carol tear at her own flesh and rip her ears off. It was surreal.
