The first task

The schedule that was given to me today, is to visit personally the company. Then meet an HR employee to further discuss my employment status and orientation. Afterward, they will give me a tour of the company. The place is so big and classy. It has a minimalistic style. Bright and light colors. The dress code of the employees is semi-formal. But for us, models, we can wear what we want when we visit the company. After the orientation and discussions, the HR employee gave me a tour in a fashion department wherein I will be handled by a model manager. A model manager of the department handles models. They will choose models from his/her team regarding the client's needs. I will be handled by Ms. Rosie Valerie. A natural french woman and fluent in 3 other languages like British, English, and Mandarin. She is pretty, friendly, professional, and classy. In her team, she handled 10 models. 5 women, including me, and 5 men. Maybe later, if it is allowed, I can ask how many model managers they have and how many models they can handle. But for now, I need to behave and be professional hahaha because I am new in this industry. I introduced myself to Ms. Rosie and her also to me. She asked a few questions about my personality and my work attitude. She wants her model to be professional at all times. As long as a model can handle his/her job, there should be no excuses for doing their roles according to the client's needs. I think I get her point. I hope there will be no more problems for me working in this kind of industry. And we exchanged numbers and followed each other in an online application made by the IT tech of the company exclusive only for the employees and models of IGL Models Inc. to be used for communication and emails. After that, she said that I should be mindful of all of the notifications I will be receiving from her and I should reply as soon as possible. 

The next day, at 6 am, Ms. Rosie messaged me. I have already an appointment to do a photoshoot for a brand here in Paris and other details about it. I replied that I will go for it. My call time will be 12 noon. I immediately woke up and get ready for that. A service car provided by a company accompanied me to go there. While I was in the car, I am excited and at the same time, I am nervous because it is my first time doing a photoshoot. Thankfully, I learned a lot from watching the vlogs of models, on what poses I should make, what kind of movements, and other stuff I should do during photoshoots. When we arrived, I am amazed that I have only seen this on the vlogs of the model. Everything that I saw here is real hahaha. A lot of clothes and makeup and accessories around. Then a space for a photoshoot, with a lot of lights and cameras around. I am not the only model here. We are 5 here from different companies. The brand is known for sports clothes. Thankfully, I think it is easy for me to carry on this time. I feel comfortable already facing the cameras. And I don’t feel awkward as a first-timer. Here we go....the makeup artist puts make-up on me and the other staff helped me to wear their clothes. And pose in front of the camera. As a model, we need to listen to the photographer and the designer on what do they need for us to do so that the result of the photoshoot is great and appealing to the audience. The photographer and the designer are great. They don't pressure us, the models. They were calmed down to tell us what we should do. I think as my first time doing this, it was fun and I learned easily in doing this kind of job. All in all, it took only 2 hours to do my first task as a model for IGL Models Inc. So as I leave, while riding the car again going back to the model's building, I replied to Ms. Rosie that I accomplished my task for today. 

Yeah, It was a great day for me. My dream is already started. I can't believe that the things that I am doing right now are happening to me. Everything seems well on the first day that I've got landed here. I don't know what will happen next. I remember the Deity said that I should be wise and be good always as I have received this gift from him. Maybe soon, things will be great for me. I'm not expecting that much....but hopefully it will be. As I got back into our apartment, I told these things to my Mom. And she is proud already that I have come to this now. I tell her that everything here is fine, I am fine also so that there will be no worries for them. I missed the food there in my hometown but of course, I need to be getting used to the food here because I will be living here for a long time. I have no friends here already. I asked Lexie to have face time with me, so we did. She asked too much about the things here. She is proud of me also. She is happy for me. And she hopes that I can visit and have a vacation leave allowed in my hometown so that we can bond again even in just one day. Yes, but I think it is not soon because I just started my job here. 

Another task comes to me. Mr. Rosie messaged me again. And I replied that I will go again for it. This brand is known worldwide. Top models also worked here. During fashion weeks, the brand is on the top list of fashion news in the world. Wow! I am grateful that I can be part of this. This time, I will have a photoshoot with this brand and they asked me if I can be part of their runaway during fashion weeks! OMG! What a great news to hear! I consulted it first to Ms. Rosie and she said in our conversation online, "It's up to you if you will take it. But I think you don't have any training and experience yet on a runway. But don't worry because IGL Models, Inc. offered free runway training to its models. After this, you need to go for it and take lessons from them." I replied "Thank you Ms. Rosie for this opportunity. Of course, I would love to take those lessons for the improvement of myself as a model." After my consultation with my manager, I said to them that I will accept their offer to become one of their runaway models in the coming fashion week. Now, I am doing their photoshoots for the promotion of the new clothing line and makeup line. After the photoshoot, they give me a schedule for runaway practice and other details about it will be given on the day of practice. 

Paris, France is one of the countries known for fashion, especially during fashion week. Big celebrities and supermodels around the world are going here to witness great designs from here. Some of the big fashion industries from other countries have been inspired from here. Fashion week here is the most anticipated show awaited by all fashion industries in the world. I'm so excited to become part of it! Another dream come true! I only thought of doing a photo shoot and runway...and doing a runway during fashion week from a great country, is really a dream come true! Thanks again, Deity!
