As I reached the threshold of my room, ready to unwind after a long and exhausting day, a chilling sense of foreboding suddenly enveloped me. Before I could react, a group of shadowy figures materialized out of nowhere, their hands gripping my arms with an iron grip. Panic surged within me, desperate cries for help forming in my throat, but they were swiftly smothered by a hand that forcefully covered my mouth, effectively silencing any sound that sought to escape. My heart pounded furiously in my chest as I was mercilessly dragged through the unknown, stumbling into an abyss of uncertainty. The sack that had been violently placed over my head further disoriented me, shrouding my senses in darkness. The world around me became a distorted blur, as if time itself had been suspended and reality warped beyond recognition. Time seemed interminable within that suffocating confinement. I could feel the rough fabric of the sack against my skin, its abrasive touch a constant reminder of my captivity. My mind raced, desperately trying to make sense of the situation, but all attempts to grasp the situation were futile. Fear gripped me, making it hard to breathe as I was engulfed in a suffocating atmosphere of apprehension. Suddenly, the sack was ripped away from my head, revealing a small, dimly lit room that exuded an eerie aura. The emptiness of the space sent shivers down my spine as if the very walls were whispering their secrets to me. I stood there, disoriented and dishevelled, taking in my surroundings with trepidation. The room was a stark contrast to the vibrant world I had just been torn away from. Darkness clung to every corner, casting elongated shadows that danced eerily on the walls. The air was heavy, infused with a coldness that seemed to seep into my very bones. It felt as though I had been transported to an alternate reality, a place devoid of life and warmth. As I slowly acclimated to the room, a chilling realization settled within me like an unwelcome guest. I was alone, trapped in this desolate chamber with no knowledge of how I had arrived or why I had become the unfortunate recipient of such a disturbing fate. The sound of my own voice echoed through the empty corridor as I yelled, desperation lacing every word. "Excuse me?" My voice cracked with fear and frustration, my heart pounding in my chest. I pounded my fist against the heavy wooden door, hoping for some response, any sign that someone was there. But there was nothing, only the eerie silence that enveloped the room. "Open the door!" I yelled again, my voice straining with the effort. My knuckles ached from the repeated pounding, but I couldn't stop. As I continued to pound on the door, frustration boiling within me, a voice reached my ears. It was faint at first, barely audible over the sound of my own desperate cries, but it grew louder and clearer with each passing moment. "Elly?" The voice was familiar, and a flicker of hope ignited within my chest. It was Diggy, Prince Edwards's trusted friend and confidant. They had known each other since childhood, their bond forged through shared experiences and a deep sense of loyalty. Diggy had been there for Prince Edwards when he needed someone the most, just as he had saved Julia, Edwards's sister from the clutches of s*****y. With renewed determination, I turned towards the source of the familiar voice. "Diggy!" I called out, relief washing over me like a tidal wave. "Thank goodness you're here!" My voice trembled with a mixture of gratitude and urgency, but as I turned back to face the door, a sinking feeling settled within me. The absence of any response from Diggy left me with a sense of unease. Where was he? Why couldn't I see him? Doubt began to creep into my mind, and a shiver ran down my spine. I was alone in this dark and desolate corridor, with no one to turn to for help. My mind raced, desperately searching for a solution. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for what lay ahead. With each beat of my heart, my resolve grew stronger. I had to find a way to open that door, to reach my sister and bring her back to safety. "Elly!" I heard Diggy's voice echo through the dimly lit room. My heart skipped a beat "I can't see you," I whispered, my voice barely audible. "Down here," he replied softly. I instinctively bent down, scanning the room for any sign of him. It didn't take long for me to realize that Diggy was imprisoned in a room beneath me. The storage area must have been a double-story space where they held prisoners. "How did you end up here?" Diggy's voice trembled with a mix of fear and exhaustion. I took a moment to compose myself before sharing the grim truth. "Julia told us that the Queen is using this battle as an opportunity to wipe out the poor with a plague. Once the King of France falls, she plans to blame him for the outbreak and seize control of the government to manipulate taxes." Diggy's silence hung heavy in the air, and I could sense his mind processing the gravity of the situation. "Julia was looking for you; we thought you were dead," I continued, my voice filled with concern. "No, someone grabbed me just before I was supposed to meet Edward and Julia. They've been torturing me every day, trying to extract information about what I know and who I've told," Diggy's voice cracked, revealing the immense pain he had endured. My heart sank as I imagined the horrors Diggy had endured in captivity. The realization of the danger we were all in became even more apparent. We needed to find a way to escape and expose the Queen's sinister plans before it was too late. As I pondered our next move, a sudden wave of determination washed over me. I couldn't let fear paralyze us; we had to fight for our freedom and expose the Queen's treachery. Diggy's safety depended on it, and so did the future of our nation. Taking a deep breath, I looked around the room, searching for any possible means of escape. The walls were cold and damp, the air thick with a sense of despair. But I couldn't let the bleak surroundings deter me. We had to find a way out. I knelt down beside the small, barred window near Diggy's cell. The moonlight trickled in, casting a faint glow on the dusty floor. It was then that I noticed a loose brick in the wall, a glimmer of hope amidst the darkness. "Diggy, I think I've found something," I whispered, my voice filled with a newfound sense of optimism. "There's a loose brick here. If we can pry it out, maybe we can create an escape route." Diggy's voice perked up, a flicker of hope evident in his response. "Elly, that might just work. We need to be careful, though. They're bound to have guards patrolling the area." I nodded, my mind racing with thoughts of the risks we were about to take. But we had no other option. We had to seize this opportunity and free ourselves from the clutches of our captors. Together, we hatched a plan, whispering our every move to ensure we remained undetected. With each passing moment, our anticipation grew, fueling our determination to regain our freedom. As I reached for the loose brick, my hands trembled with a mix of fear and excitement. I knew that our fate hung in the balance, and the outcome would determine not only our own destiny but also the future of our beloved country.
