_Lucian's POV_ The room smelled like damp earth and herbs. Candles flickered in the corners, casting long shadows on the stone walls. I stood with my arms crossed, watching the witch mix her potions behind a wooden table stained with old magic. “I don’t want any more mistakes,” I said, my voice sharp. “We came too close the other day. Kieran almost saw her face to face.” The witch didn’t look up.
