_Katherine’s POV_ The next morning, I forced myself out of bed, though my body felt heavy with exhaustion. My thoughts from last night hadn’t left me. I kept replaying what I had found in Lucian’s study—the photograph, the name Alexis, the documents claiming he was Lucian’s younger brother. Nothing made sense. I shook my head and tried to push it away. I couldn’t afford to be distracted.
