Lucian leaned back in his chair, his sharp eyes studying me. "An alliance is a significant commitment, Alpha Kieran. If I agree to this, it means putting trust in the Shadowfang Pack—trust that must be earned."
I held his gaze steadily. "I understand that, Alpha Lucian. That’s why I came here in person—to show you that my offer is genuine."
Lucian tapped his fingers against the armrest of his chair. He was still guarded, still weighing his words. "Trust isn’t built in a single conversation," he said finally.
I inclined my head slightly. "No, it’s not. But every alliance has to start somewhere. And I believe that seeing your pack firsthand would help me understand you better. A true Alpha leads by example, and from what I have heard, you’re no exception."
