Its going on four in the morning and Kacy and Karma are still awake. Getting to know each other a little better, the blankets and snacks came out and slow music played softly in the background. Karma giggled and ate another watermelon slice "So you're as pure as they get huh? Never f****d, Never kissed, Never smoked or drink" he nodded slightly "I f***s with that heavy ma"

"Good but I'm still waiting for you to tell me something's"

"What you tryin to know?"

Karma shrugged "I'm not sure" she stared at Kacy, trying to figure him out "I'm good at reading people but you're hard. I can see just by looking at you, you've had a rough past. A hard time getting certain things some people got easily. But you worked hard for what you have and you're proud to show off what you got. But at the same time, you're not a flashy person"

"Iight, you good. What else you see?"

She squinted her eyes a little "You're guarded and don't like to open up to people. I'm not sure if its because you've had people leave after you did, or because you don't want to be judged. But I do know that once you do open up, you're one hell of a guy" she chuckled. "You're not like these other guys you know? You're not shallow. You have something deep to say, because you've seen a lot. And I wanna hear it all"

Kacy looked away from her and smirked, then grabbed his already lit blunt. Taking a long drag, he let it sit then exhaled and sat back again.

"You want ta' know what I see in you?" He asked. Not giving her a chance to answer, he spoke again. "You're a smart girl and you work fa' the s**t you got. I can already see the attitude and smart ass mouth wantin to bounce out, but you control it. You know when ta' speak ya mind and when you hol' ya tongue. But when you're givin the chance to be blunt with people, you take advantage. I like that. " he looked over at Karma and kicked his lips, looking her over "You're fragile too. You ain't been through much, so it won't take much to break you. But you strong hearted. There's things you can handle and things you can't" he looked in her eyes "What can't you handle ma?"

Karma shrugged "I don't know" she looked down.

"Don't do that. It make you look insecure" he spoke "Are you?"

"I have my moments"

"Honest. Ain't no reason fa' you ta' be insecure. A lot of woman would kill ta' have the face and body you have."

"Its hard not to have insecure moments in a society like this. Everywhere you look, guys are talking about big titties or big asses. I don't have neither, so I think they'd never be attracted to me"

"I'm attracted ta' you " he said before taking a drag of his blunt "Don't worry about what you hear these lil niggas say. The ones that go along with what everybody else doing, immature and dumb. Real men go with what they like. Feel me?" Kacy shrugged "I feel like all woman beautiful. Honest. Don't matter if you dark or light. Fat or skinny. If you got a good heart, I'm attracted ta' you"

"There should be more men like you"

Kacy chuckled and shook his head "Naw, that wouldn't work. I'm a crazy nigga, Karma. Trust me"

Karma looked at him "I can see that but I don't think you're crazy. Everyone has their demons that shape their future. Your demons just so happen to be darker then what most people experience. But then again, that's why you're not shallow like these other guys."

"So if I was ta' sit here and tell you about the scary s**t in my past, you wouldn't judge or look at me differently?" He asked.

"Who am I to judge you? I'm not God and I have my problems too. You have my word, I wouldn't judge or look at you differently "

Kacy smiled a little "Cool. But that's anotha story fa' anotha day"

Karma rolled her eyes playfully then yawned "I'm about to head off. I'm getting sleepy"

"Goodnight"

Kacy busted into his room and pulled the pillow from under Karma's head, then hit her with it "Wake that ass up" he yelled in a raspy voice. Kacy had to sleep in a guest room the previous night because Karma was in his bed. Usually he would've hopped right in, but he didn't want her to feel weird. The conversation the night before left both Kacy and Karma thinking about certain things but of course, neither of them would confess to what they were thinking.

Karma groaned and her eyes opened "Leave me alone"

"You in my bed" he chuckled "Make me get the ice water"

Karma sat up and watched as Kacy walked into the bathroom. She yawned and stretched then let her feet touch the cold wooden floors.

"Your beds comfy" she giggled walking into the bathroom "Any extra?" She referred to the toothbrush. He passed her one and they did their morning hygiene together.

"Next time you stay over, I'm sleeping in my bed"

"There won't be a next time buddy boy" she hopped back in the bed and sat Indian style, pulling the covers over her "Can you cook breakfast?"

Kacy looked back at her from finding some clothes in his closet "You must have bumped ya head ma. Ion cook fa' nobody except Kacy"

"I'm hungry"

Kacy shrugged then went through his wallet and passed her his debit card "Go get some food and then you could cook for us" he went back to finding something to wear.

"When I get back, I'm only cooking for me. Since you can't cook for us"

Kacy chuckled and pulled on his cargoes and shirt "Quit playin and go"

Karma hopped off the bed "You just wait and see then" Karma kept on the clothes she had and took Kacy's keys off the dresser and drove to the grocery store. When she returned an hour later, she got started.

Quickly making eggs, grits, sausage and toast with jelly, she sat at the dining table and started to eat. Kacy walked downstairs smelling the food and smiled to himself.

When he walked into the kitchen to see he didn't have a plate made, or any food left, he walked into the dining room where Karma was.

"Ain't you forgettin somethin?" He asked watching her eat.

Karma looked at her plate for awhile "You right" standing to her feet, she walked into the kitchen to get some water. "Now I'm set" she smiled starting to eat again.

"Aye, you really ain't fix me s**t?" He asked "That's f****d up ma"

Karma shrugged "You act like you couldn't cook and said you only cook for you. Now I only cook for me"

"I thought you was nice "

"Treat people how they treat you" she said biting into her toast.

"You coming ta' the kickback tonight?" Kacy asked, pulling in front of her house. Karma looked and seen her moms car and step dad's car were out front.

"Most likely not" she shrugged, opening the door "Thanks for everything Kacy" she smiled. Before she could get out, Kacy grabbed her hand gently.

"Come ta' the kickback"

"Why?"

"Cause I like spendin time with you. " he shrugged "I'll come pick you up iight?"

"I can drive" Karma smiled.

"Im sure you can, but I said what I said"

Karma rolled her eyes and turned to hid the smile that was fighting to take over her face . Making her way inside, she went straight upstairs to shower and change then walked into her moms room.

"Hey Joe" she smiled "Where'd y'all go last night?"

"I had to go to the office and your mom ended up popping up on me. What about you Ms. I forgot my curfew"

Karma giggled and sat on the bed "I didn't forget but I did come here to find the door locked. I just ended up staying at a friends though"

"Dion?" He squinted his eyes and when she didn't answer, he sighed "I won't tell"

"Thank you Joe. I'll be in my room"

Karma closed her room door and turned on Pandora before laying in her bed and playing Candy crush. Her phone vibrated and she got a text from Kat.

Karma laughed and slipped on her shoes and walked downstairs and outside. Dion's car was in the driveway and Kat was in the passenger seat while Ash was in the back.

"What y'all doing here?" She asked leaning against the window.

"We came to see bae. Now get in" Ash smiled opening the door and sliding over. "No questions, just ride"

"Um no. Dion where we going?"

He chuckled "They paid me not to say" he shrugged.

Karma sighed and sat back. About an hour nlater, they pulled up to a venue. A huge venue nhnñbmat that. When they walked inside, it looked like a place pulled out of my super sweet 16.

"This place is nice" Karma smiled "But why we here again?"

"Because" Kat said.

"This is" Ash added.

"Where your" Dion continued.

"Party" Kat said.

"Will" Ash added again.

"Be" Dion finished. It took Karma awhile to understand but when she did, she yelled in excitement and jumped on all three of them.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you" She repeated. "This place looks expensive"

"It is" Dion mumbled "They made me pay like 3/4 but its cool cause I knew you'd like it"

"No, I love it. When do we start?"

"Next week" Kat said.

"We're waiting for a few things but it'll work out soon"

"Yay!"
