I stopped moving, as did Jaxon, and we both appeared oblivious to what Uriel said. Jaxon, however, was the first to regain his composure a split second later. He hastily straightened his clothes and pants before opening the door while facing away from me. I, on the other hand, wrapped a quilt around my body before getting out of bed and looked for clothes. As I got down, I almost tripped. My mind was racing for a reason as to where Morgan was when the door closed and Jaxon dashed out the door with Uriel. The fact that I didn't overhear any of their conversation but only their departure scared me the most.
