CHAPTER THIRTY

Days passed, and Ms. Estrella had regain her consciousness, but Elena can’t get herself to visit her Aunt Elle, even though she’s dying to see her, but her guilt is eating her system, after she remembered that Lena wasn’t helped Ms. Estrella immediately.

If Lena didn’t being that conceited and helped her Aunt Elle, now even Dr. Monte told her that its not her fault she herself can’t be convince.

The doctor told her that she will be discharge three days from now, and she might got a glimpse of Ms. Estrella before she left.

She had decided to stay away from them, for she might really kill herself if anything happens to them, if its not she was being reminded Ms. Estrella’s voice and her promising that she will not going to commit suicide again, she might had done it that day that she first and last visited her Aunt Elle.

Up until now, she still haven’t heard around her opening the topic about the incident, but even though she is freaking curious about it, she can’t find herself asking, nor even about where Dana. She is waiting both Dr. Monte and Mr. Vaughn to open up.

A knock from the door disturb her thought. She saw her room door open revealing Dr. Monte wearing jeans and grey polo shirt, and smiled at her as he saw hew seating on her bed.

“How are you feeling?” Dr. Monte asked while smiling gently.

“I-I’m good.” She respond shyly.

“W-What are y-you doing here,” she asked, “how’s A-Aunt Elle?”

She gulped the lumped on her throat as she asked. She saw a pleasing smile crept to Dr. Monte’s lips.

“That’s why I’m here,” he declared. “Your Aunt wants to see you badly, are still not going to see her?”

A thud of guilt started to crept in as she heard what Dr. Monte said, and now she suddenly felt debating against her emotions and thinking. She badly misses her Aunt Elle too.

It take a while finishing debating with herself until she come up with a decision, and started to get on her feet, and stared at Dr. Monte who was patiently waiting for her. Dr. Monte looks like had known her decision for his smile grew wider.

“Your Aunt will be happy to see you, Elena.” he said approaching Elena closer and hold her shoulders.

Elena nod, and slowly she and Dr. Monte made their way towards Ms. Estrella’s room. As they arrived infront of the door room Elena suddenly felt nervous and scared that her Aunt Elle might be mad at her, and was about to back out when Dr. Monte hold her shoulders.

“Relax Elena, don’t worry your Aunt Elle is not mad.” He said calming Elena for he saw her getting nervous.

Elena felt her breath stop as Dr. Monte opened the door slowly, it was like a slowmo and she can feel her heard became rigid.

The moment that the door opened wider, her heart dropped as she saw her Aunt Elle looking at her with a smile on her lips. She is waiting for her! Her Aunt is waiting for her! She thought as she slowly made her way towards Ms. Estrella who had been waiting for her.

“Elena.” Ms. Estrella uttered.

Elena can’t say anything, and just felt herself taking step towards to Ms. Estrella and eventually almost run. She hugged Ms. Estrella so tight and wept like child who had been separated to her parents for a long and now they meet.

Ms. Estrella console Elena by tapping her back, and whispered her a comforting words, for she knows Elena might blaming herself for what happened. Elena has been a lad who took responsibly and blame whenever something bad happened that she thought, because of her.

“Its okay, Elena. Its okay.” She said to Elena.

After a while Elena recover from weeping while apologizing non-stop. She and Elena was able to have conversation telling that she don’t want Elena to blame herself, for that wasn’t her fault.

Elena separate herself from hugging Ms. Estrella and stare at her eyes, and nod as a sign that she was accepting what Ms. Estrella told her about hating herself.

But, she did that to ease what her Aunt Elle’s feelings, for she don’t want her Aunt to be worried about and also for the sake of her decision.

 She already made up her decision while contemplating herself before deciding to meet her Aunt Elle a while ago.

It was hard to come up with that decision she’d made but, this is all she can do not to put them in danger anymore.

“A-Aunt Elle, thank you for everything.” She said gratefully and slight smile.

She stood up after their conversation and Ms. Estrella immediately gave her smile back again, and ease can be seen in her eyes.

She also turn face Dr. Monte who was just standing on the side while watching them, “thank you, Dr. Monte for taking care of me and my Aunt, and also I apologize again.”

Elena slightly bowed to Dr. Monte and as she straighten her back and face Dr. Monte. She saw Dr. Monte approaching her with a kind and understanding smile.

“Your always welcome, Elena. Always.” Dr. Monte said.

Then a thought suddenly, crept to her mind as she recall the revelation of Dr. Monte days ago and turn her gaze to the oldies back and fort while giving them a teasingly smile.

“By the way Aunt Elle,“ she said pouting. “Why didn’t you tell me that you and Dr. Monte.”

Elena grinned teasingly to Ms. Estrella, who is now blushing, and turn to Dr. Monte with a annoyed face.

“Did you tell her?” Ms. Estrella asked.

Dr. Monte scratch her head slightly before staring back with to Ms. Estrella while awkwardly smiling that Elena find the adults cute, for it was like a teenager who is about to have a lovers quarrel.

“I slipped.” He confessed.

“I was the one who will going to Elena, but you ruined it.” Ms. Estrella said annoyed and rolled her eyes.

Elena chuckle by the sight, that made the adults smile as well for they were glad hearing Elena’s laughing after what happened to them.

After that, Elena bid her goodbye to the adults, and Dr. Monte was about to escort her back to her room when she declined, as she insist that she had Mr. Vaughn’s men waiting for her outside the room which is real, because when she opened the door, Ian was there.

Mr. Vaughn sent Ian, the man who took her to the hospital after being shot twice, to guard her for a while.

“Miss, Mr. Vaughn is looking for you.” Ian informed as soon as she came out to Ms. Estrella’s room.

Before Elena closed the door behind her, she wave to Ms. Estrella and left with Ian. Elena wanted to congratulate herself for able to smile and laugh infront of Dr. Monte and Ms. Estrella a while ago.

They made there way back to her room silently while Elena consoling herself that the decision she made is good for the people around her.

As they arrived to her room, she saw Mr. Vaughn seated in the sofa which is the visitor’s seat, waiting for her.

Mr. Vaughn’s face is too serious when he stared at her and for some reason, she got nervous. She bowed slightly as a greeting when Mr. Vaughn faced her, before she went to where her bed is.

“You can leave us, Ian. Thank you.” Mr. Vaughn said.

Ian immediately heed what Mr. Vaughn said and quietly made himself out of my room. When Ian closed the door a deafening, silence surround her room but was immediately broke when Mr. Vaughn cleared his throat.

“Elena.” Mr. Vaughn started.

“You must be curious if what happened Raffy right?” He asked.

Elena nod, “yeah.”

“Is anything wrong?” she curiously asked.

Her forehead crease while staring at Mr. Vaughn waiting for him to answer.

“I’m sorry for telling you this late, but Raffy, was nowhere to be found, Elena and we’re still looking for him.” He said.

“B-But how?” she asked.

“I d-don’t know as well, for now I wi—” what he is saying was cut when his phone ringed.

Mr. Vaughn excuse himself, when he saw the caller before he stood up and gone to the side of her room where it was enough not to hear the conversation, before picking up the call.

Elena watched Mr. Vaughn’s expression as he got convers to someone on the phone, and his expression was all serious. Elena doesn’t still know Mr. Vaughn that much, there’s something inside her to trust the old man.

Mr. Vaughn, told her that he knew her illness, and Lena which is he first met, he even told her stories about her parents and showed her their last taken family picture that he for a long just incase he found her.

She saw how Mr. Vaughn cared for her parents, which is she found why. Selena, her mother was his adopted daughter, so it basically he is her step-grandfather, but she can’t bring herself to call Mr. Vaughn grandfather yet.

“Did I take too long?” Mr. Vaughn asked.

As he approach Elena as his call ended, Elena shake her head as a response, “it’s okay.”

Mr. Vaughn seated to where he is seating before after Elena responded. Actually the call came from his private investigator, informing him that, Raffy was seen in the airport yesterday and was gone to Europe.

“Tsk!” he clap tongue.

“Is anything wrong?” Curiously, Elena asked.

Mr. Vaughn, didn’t answer yet. He is now contemplating himself if he would tell Elena about Raffy being found, for he don’t want her to worry again.

He shake his head and stare at Elena. “No, there isn’t.”

“And about Raffy we’re still searching for him.” Mr. Vaughn said, “for now, I will have you, Ms. Estrella and Dr. Monte guarded just incase.”

Elena immediately accepted the guarding offer. Mr. Vaughn told her also that he will inform her Aunt Elle and Dr. Monte about the information as well.

After the conversation between her and Mr. Vaughn, he left informing her that he has a meeting that he need to attend to, leaving Ian as her official guard.

But, before their conversation ended, she asked Mr. Vaughn that if could not stay with Ms. Estrella and Dr. Monte to be her doctor anymore, for she don’t want to endanger their lives anymore.

At first, Mr. Vaughn was against to her decision, but then he accepted it after Elena told her reasons, and was also asked him a favor about the people that Lena, her alter personality, killed.

For she remembered Dana told her that her father was up for revenge after her brother Leonel disappeared all of a sudden and was found dead in the woods, she wanted to confirmed her haunch that Lena might be the one who did it to Leonel.
