I didn’t sleep that night.
Every time I closed my eyes, I saw his face, the way his eyes softened when they met mine through the window. The slight parting of his lips. The unspoken things between us. And my ridiculous reaction, dodging like a child caught eavesdropping. Like a child doing something forbidden.
Why did I do that?
