Evening Free Argument

After coming home, Rose's first thing was to take a nap to get some sleep back.
When she woke up, she went to the supermarket. She bought all the things she needed for making hot pot, including some beer.
She had just won her first battle, so she was going to have a hot pot dinner at home to celebrate.
But eating hot pot alone felt really lonely.
She had gotten used to being by herself after being a loner for so long.
Just as she was about to start cooking, there was a knock on the door.
Who could it be at this time?
Rose opened the door with suspicion.
Standing there was Gaus, dressed in a sharp western suit and a dark coat. He was holding a colorful fruit basket and carrying little bun in his arms.
What an odd combination!
“Mr. Gaus? ” Rose was surprised, “Why are you here so late? Is something wrong? ”
Gaus simply said, “Sick visit. ”
A sick visit?
He came to visit her at this hour, even bringing little bun along?
It was just a small injury, she was still lively and jumping around.
“Er, you're being too polite, Mr. Gaus. Don't mind the mess, please come in,” Rose said, flattered yet confused. She quickly tidied up the room, moved the mess from the couch, and put the pile of clothes under the bed.
“Sit anywhere you like. Would you like something to drink? Green tea or milk? ” While she was busy, Rose tried to figure out why Gaus had come. But she couldn’t guess his reason, no matter how hard she tried. His thoughts were too deep.
“Sure,” Gaus nodded, like a commander giving an order.
Rose stayed confused as she made tea for Gaus and milk for little bun.
Gaus sat awkwardly on the narrow sofa, while little bun sat beside him.
The father and son looked exactly alike, and even their expressions were the same.
They were both completely emotionless.
The situation felt very uncomfortable.
Rose was almost in tears, sitting across from them.
What were they doing here?
At that moment, the pot started to bubble, and the air filled with a spicy, enticing smell.
To break the silence, Rose casually asked, “Have you guys had dinner yet? I was about to have hot pot, would you like to join me? ”
Gaus: “Okay. ”
Little bun nodded.
Rose: “……”
She just asked out of politeness. Were they trying to start a fight by agreeing so quickly?
One was a CEO, the other was a little young master. They had probably tried all sorts of fancy food before. So why were they here, having a simple hot pot with common people like her?
Rose felt a little embarrassed by the lack of good food.
But she had already invited them, so she just kept going, adding two more pairs of chopsticks.
“The soup base I bought is quite spicy, can you handle spicy food? ” Rose worriedly asked.
Gaus: “Yes. ”
Little bun nodded.
Okay then. . .
Rose brought over the freshly washed ingredients.
Gaus didn’t eat much, he mostly cooked for them. On the other hand, little bun loved spicy food as much as she did. He kept eating even though his tongue was sticking out from the heat.
Rose finally got worried, “Is it bad for kids to eat too much spicy food? ”
She couldn’t afford to have anything happen to this little prince.
“Not that delicate,” Gaus said, dismissing her worries.
Rose said nothing more.
The usually quiet and calm Gaus suddenly spoke up, “How did the audition go? ”
Rose froze for a moment before answering.
She said, “It went pretty well. So I made hot pot to celebrate today! ”
Gaus raised his glass, “Congratulations. ”
She hadn’t expected Gaus to be the first person to congratulate her.
Rose gently raised her beer glass and toasted with the one in her hands. She smiled warmly from her heart, saying, “Thank you! ”
As the girl’s smile spread, Gaus’s hands shook slightly.
Rose looked over at Little Treasure sitting beside her and said, “I really want to thank Little Treasure. I wouldn’t have made it on time for the audition if it weren’t for him! Here, darling, let’s toast you! ”
Little Treasure looked at his milk, then at Rose and Daddy’s beers. Though he didn’t want to, he finally raised his cup to toast with Rose. Then he drank the whole glass in one go.
Rose couldn’t help but laugh at his serious look. Did he know how to act like a grown-up and drown his sorrows in drinks too?
Gaus left for the balcony to take a call halfway through the meal.
Rose moved close to Little Treasure’s side. She handed him her beer. “Heh heh! Want to try the taste? Quick, have a little while your dad isn’t here! Just a tiny sip though! ”
Little Treasure’s eyes shone like the stars in the night sky. He lowered his head and carefully took a small sip.
Even though the taste was awful, he felt really happy.
As soon as Gaus came back from his call, Rose immediately sat up, as if nothing had happened.
Little Treasure was even more composed. He drank his milk slowly, not showing any worry.
Gaus looked like he hadn’t noticed anything, but a warm look passed through his eyes as he sat down with a normal expression.
The three of them had strong appetites. They finished everything even though she had bought a lot of ingredients.
Rose thought it was time to go, since it was getting late. Suddenly, lightning flashed across the sky. Right after that, thunder rumbled and strong winds started blowing outside……
“I saw the weather forecast said heavy rain and a typhoon tonight…”
Rose looked out the window at the pouring rain with a troubled expression. Little bun and Gaus both looked at her……
After being stared at by the pair, Rose could only say, “Going back with Little Treasure at this time is a little risky since it’s already this late and the weather isn’t looking good. Maybe you could stay here tonight? ”
She had made the offer just out of politeness, thinking there was no way Gaus would agree. But the result was……
Gaus: “Okay. ”
Little Bun nodded.
WHAT!? Why did you agree again…?
Gaus was way too easygoing!
Why did she get the feeling the pair had been waiting for her to make the offer?
She was going crazy!!!
Just like that, Gaus and Little Treasure were going to stay over.
The apartment her company had arranged for her wasn’t very big; it only had a living room and a bedroom. The sleeping arrangements were definitely a problem.
“I’ll sleep in the living room tonight. Mr. Gaus, is it okay if you sleep with Little Treasure in my room? I’ll go change the bedsheets…”
“No, I’ll sleep in the living room. You should sleep with Little Treasure in the bedroom.” Gaus said in a tone that left no room for argument.
Rose felt like she was digging her own grave. Not only had she invited CEO Gaus to eat a cheap hotpot, but she was even making him sleep in the living room.
She wouldn’t have let Gaus stay if he were the only one here. Especially after what Gaus had said earlier, and with just the two of them under the same roof.
But considering Little Treasure, she didn’t have a choice.
It was too dangerous to let him bring a child back in this weather. It couldn’t be considered a couple alone together since Little Treasure was here…right?
Rose could only accept her fate. “I’ll see if I can find some clothes for both of you…”
She was able to find a change of clothes for them after rummaging through her closet.
