Chapter-8

Allena

Heat crept up my face as I remembered my dream. I can't believe I was dreaming about being naked with Jake in the bathroom and kissing his abs. If only he knew what was happening in my dirty mind.

He had a full-blown smile on his face and with the sunlight falling on his face he kinda looked adorable. With that messy hair and those muscles bulging out of his t-shirt I don't think I can be blamed for drooling.

He moved and slid the tray toward me and that actually brought me back to reality. I was lying on his bed while he was serving me breakfast even though he is the one who was recovering from the accident and I who should be taking care of him am busy with my dreams.

Guilt hit me like a truck and I immediately jumped out of bed and caught balance on the ground while he watched all this with amusement dancing in his eyes.

"I am so sorry, I overslept and you had to get breakfast. But don't worry I will take care of everything from now on. I am your secretary and you tell me anything you need. Have you taken medicine? Of course, you didn't, I will just get them for you...." I blabbered walking toward the cupboard when I was pushed back on the bed.

I looked at him with shock and he had had a clam face, he was so close to me, our lips were an inch apart and I could feel my heart thumping in my chest.

"Take three deep breaths," he said slowly in his deep voice which gave me goosebumps. I closed my eyes and followed his instruction but during the whole this time I couldn't relax as I could feel his hot breath trickling down my neck.

I opened my eyes slowly and stood up back creating some distance between us. Whole-time I could feel his intense gaze burning on me.

"I will get freshen up," I said and walked straight toward the bathroom without looking back. 

When I came back he was sitting on the side table eating and he looked up and signaled me to join and I sat next to him and focused all my thoughts only on the food.

For the next thirty minutes, we both just sat there and eat breakfast without saying a single word. I could feel the tension between us but I couldn't gather the courage to break the silence or more like I didn't know what to say.

There was a knock on the door that reminded me of Laura, she must still be in the house. How will I explain my presence here to her, Jake told me there is nothing between them but still.

I walked to the gate and relaxed a little seeing Bertha there. She smiled at me and entered. I still remember the last time when I was here and I told her I will be leaving soon, she gave me the same smile and said " I don't think so" and we actually talked for quite a bit.

"I didn't want to disturb you but if you are done I could take the tray," she said picking up the things when Jake got up and stopped her. Both me and Bertha were now looking at him confused.

"I told you you can leave for your daughter, we will manage here."

"What happened to your daughter?" I asked walking up to her.

"Oh, she is good, she pregnant and her due date is in 3 days." she smiled.

"Oh my god, that is amazing. I told you to not lose hope, I am so happy for you and her" I hugged her in excitement and now Jake was giving us confused look.

"Wait a minute, How do you know that and when did you become such a good friend?"

"Oh, you remember the day when you saved me at the club and brought me back here, that day" I replied.

"Ok, that's good. Now, will you help me convince her that I am fine here and she can leave without worrying about me?"

"Of course you should go, I will take care of him, don't worry at all. Be with your daughter, she needs you." I gave her an assuring pat but she still didn't look very convinced.

"In fact, Allena will be moving in with me for the time being, Isn't that right Allena," he said with a smirk on his face and I stared blankly at him.

I was too stunned to reply, I gave him a death glare but that seems to only amuse him even more.

Now Bertha was looking hopefully at me. Dammit, how do I end up in such a situation with him?

"Of course, I am," I said, not able to any way out of this. What have I gotten myself into? Ziya will kill me if she comes to know about it.

"That's great, then I have nothing to worry about. I will leave you to it," she said and with a big smile, she left the room and I stood fixed in my spot trying to analyze the situation. 

As the gate closed behind I stared at Jack but he was sitting in his seat looking at his phone relaxed acting oblivious to what he just did which made me angrier.

" Hello mister, do you have a second to talk about what you did?" I snarled but his calm expression was unwavering.

He got up and started walking toward me with a serious look and his eyes looking straight in my eyes like I was his next prey. My anger was replaced with nervousness. I took a step back but he kept walking until my back was against the door and all my senses were focused on our closeness. My breath hitched and I could feel my traitor body responding to him.

"I am all yours. What do you want to talk about?" he finally said breaking a huge smile on his face.

" I can't move here with you," I said, he sighed and moved away. I could feel the loss of warmth as he moved away sat back on the bed. He looked a little tired.

I took the medicine and a glass of water from the table and gave them to him. He took it without a word. I sat opposite him and waited patiently.

"Why?" he finally asked.

"I don't think it will be appropriate and anyway your guestroom will is already taken by Laur.." I tried to speak nonchalantly but couldn't help feel jealous.

He took one of my hands in his and gently stroked it, I wanted to pull them away but I couldn't and then he spoke, "She left in the morning. Allena, I know I have hurt you many times but one thing I never did is lie to you. So I will say this again, Laura is just a friend. I love only one girl and that is you. I understand that you need time and I will wait for however long it takes but that doesn't mean that we have to stay away?"

"Okay" was all I could say. I was feeling so overwhelmed. I wanted to say so much but no word came out of my mouth.

"Are you sure?" he asked.

"Yes, I will go and get my stuff and you can rest for time being," I said getting up and walked to the gate when his voice makes me turn around.

"Allena, thank you for understanding."

"Take rest, I will be back soon" I smiled at him and walked out.
