Chapter 5: Deserve It

1720 Words
The Harrison family had been kind to her, but Paula was relentless. Despite Kaia repeatedly retreating and hiding in London, Paula still wouldn't let her go. In consideration of her uncle and two cousins, Kaia had been accommodating towards Paula, but Paula dared to insult her son as a bastard. Didn't she realize why Kaia had given birth to her two sons? Paula's audacity knew no bounds! Kaia shielded her sons behind her and coldly said, "Move aside! If you don't, don't blame me for being impolite!" "Don’t you dare!" Paula straightened her posture. "Kaia, think carefully. I am your uncle's lawfully wedded wife! Try laying a finger on me!" Kaia sneered and was about to say something when a remote-controlled airplane suddenly flew over and hovered above Paula's head. The door of the airplane opened with a splash, pouring out some liquid. A pale yellow, sticky fluid drenched Paula's face. "Ah..." Paula closed her eyes and screamed, instinctively reaching out to touch it. She was terrified, fearing it might be something like sulfuric acid. Fortunately, it wasn't. The viscous liquid was fragrant and sweet, carrying the unique scent of flowers. Honey? Without even thinking, she knew that those two little bastards, Chris and Charlie, were behind this. Furious, she shouted, "Christian, Charles, you two little bastards, just wait! If I don't skin you alive, my name isn't Wells!" Ryan, who had been watching Chris and Charlie playfully tormenting people with their pranks, suddenly turned cold. Little bastards? Skin them alive? Well. Regardless of whether those two children could be his sons or not, they were adorable, well-behaved, and likable kids. Seeing them being insulted and berated like this in front of him, he couldn't tolerate it! He was about to step forward and handle the situation for Kaia when Chris emerged from Kaia's car, holding a small box in his hand. The little guy had a flushed face from anger, his big round eyes shining with a chilling light that was astonishingly bright. He ran to a spot not far from Paula, clutching the small box and opening it. Soon, a buzzing sound filled the air as a swarm of bees flew out of the box. The bees, attracted by the scent of honey, immediately swarmed towards Paula without hesitation. A few seconds later, Paula let out a scream akin to a pig being slaughtered. Charlie, holding the remote control for the airplane, ran over to Chris, taunting Paula who was screaming in agony, "You're the real skinflint! Couldn't you just stay in America? Why did you have to come looking for trouble yourself?... Serves you right!" A snake's venomous fangs, a bee's stinger—both were highly poisonous. Seeing a swarm of bees buzzing around Paula, stinging her until her head was covered in welts, he felt like he didn't need to intervene anymore. He was starting to really like those two little kids. At this moment, he suddenly felt that a paternity test was unnecessary. With their courage, intelligence, and striking resemblance to him, they must be his own flesh and blood! Standing behind Kaia and her two sons, Ryan casually inserted his hands into his pockets, leisurely observing. Paula was on the verge of being stung to death by the bees. She screamed in agony while desperately swatting at the bees that relentlessly attacked her. Watching Paula's disheveled appearance, Chris and Charlie couldn't help but burst into laughter, holding hands and giggling happily. Kids are simple like that—quick to get angry and quick to let go. Seeing the bad guys getting their comeuppance made them happy. Paula came this time to take Kaia back with her. She brought seven or eight bodyguards along. The bodyguards swiftly surrounded them, taking off their jackets and swatting at the bees with all their might. The bees, enjoying their meal, were disturbed and became furious, stinging the bodyguards all over their heads. When the bees finally couldn't stand the disturbance anymore and buzzed away, Paula and her bodyguards were left with swollen heads, looking pitiful. Chris and Charlie clapped their little hands and cheered, jumping up and down. Paula went mad, screaming, "Catch those two little bastards for me! I'll skin them alive!" Although the bodyguards were in pain from the bee stings, they had no choice but to follow their master's orders. The group of bodyguards moved towards Chris and Charlie together. Kaia pulled her two sons behind her, sneering. Did these seven or eight random people think they could kidnap her sons? They were dreaming! She was filled with anger and was about to take it out on those bodyguards when suddenly, the Miller family's bodyguards rushed in front of her and her sons, blocking Paula's bodyguards. Ryan walked up to Kaia, casually putting his hand in his pocket and smiling faintly. "With so many men here, how can a lady like you be expected to lift a finger?" Before his words even finished, the Miller family's bodyguards had already taken down Paula's bodyguards. The one-sided battle ended in lightning speed. "Ryan?" Norman stepped on one of the bodyguards and turned to Ryan, seeking further instructions. Ryan casually said, "Call the police and report them for k********g my son!" Norman hesitated, "Sir, shouldn't we do a paternity test first..." Before they even had the paternity test, would it be appropriate to claim that those two kids were his sons? "I never said they were my biological sons," Ryan smiled. "Godsons are also sons. For now..." Ryan's lips curled up as he gently touched Chris and Charlie's heads. "They are my godsons!" He felt a connection with these two children. Naturally cold-hearted, apart from a few people who mattered to him, he usually remained indifferent to others and their affairs. But these two kids effortlessly stirred his emotions—his joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. Regardless of the paternity test results, they were his sons, Ryan's sons! Anyone who dared to bully them would have to get past him first! With clear instructions given, Norman nodded solemnly. "Yes sir!" He took out his phone to call the police. Kaia tilted her head and looked at Ryan, furrowing her brows. "I can handle it myself!" "I know, those useless men are no match for you," Ryan said. "But with so many men here, it would be a shame for a fragile girl like you to take action." Fragile? Norman's mouth twitched as he dialed the phone, unable to bear listening any longer. A woman who could easily throw him over her shoulder, fragile as a breeze? When did Ryan acquire this skill of speaking nonsense with his eyes wide open? He couldn't listen any further. He was afraid that if he continued listening, he wouldn't be able to control the twitching corners of his mouth, let alone his facial expressions. Kaia was also speechless. To those unfamiliar with her, judging solely by her appearance, she did seem fragile. But Ryan had just fought with her, so how could he, with a clear conscience, say she was fragile? Or perhaps, in his world, anyone who couldn't defeat him was considered fragile? If that were the case, then she truly was fragile. After all, she was defeated by him! She didn't want to dwell on this issue and turned to face Ryan, speaking seriously, "Chris and Charlie are my sons, not yours! Whether they are biological or not, they are mine alone!" "I understand," Ryan smirked. "I understand that they are your destiny. You don't have to worry about me taking them away. I'm not that tasteless." For five years, the three of them had relied on each other for survival. Kaia had poured all her efforts into raising these two children. He would have no taste if he took away someone else's son and separated a mother from her children. He wouldn't do that. At most... well, he would just take the three of them home together. That way, they wouldn't be separated anymore. Kaia looked at Ryan intently. On this man's face, she couldn't find any trace of lies. He was incredibly handsome, the most handsome man she had ever seen. Besides his good looks, he exuded an air of grace, nobility, and superiority that made it clear he wasn't an ordinary person with just one glance. Elegant like a prince, noble like an emperor. Every word and action gave off a sense of authority and conviction. This man seemed trustworthy. She secretly breathed a sigh of relief and smiled at Ryan, "Thank you." She was beautiful. Her smile bloomed like a hundred flowers, stunning the passage of time. Even Ryan, who was accustomed to seeing beautiful women, couldn't help but be dazzled by her sudden smile. The corners of his lips curled up even higher, "You're welcome, just a small favor." He glanced at the wailing members of the Harrison family on the ground, "You take the children and leave first. Leave the rest to me." Anyone who dared to insult his son as illegitimate, whether they were biological or not, would rot in jail! Kaia nodded and thanked him again. Holding the hands of her two sons, she walked towards her red Cayenne. As Charlie, led by Kaia, was about to reach the car, he suddenly turned around and looked at Ryan. Ryan, who was watching them leave, saw him turn around and smiled tenderly at him. Norman, who had just finished his phone call, turned around with his phone in hand and happened to see Ryan's gentle smile. His hand trembled, and he almost dropped his phone. Oh my god! Ryan could actually smile so tenderly. It was unbelievable in broad daylight! He really wanted to take a picture as a keepsake! But... for the sake of his own life, he better not. After all, this sir wasn't that gentle with everyone. When Charlie saw Ryan's gentle smile directed at him, he forcefully pressed his little white hand against his rosy lips and then extended it towards Ryan, blowing him a big kiss. Seeing his adorable little gesture, Ryan felt his heart melting. At this moment, he suddenly had an impulse... regardless of whether Chris and Charlie were his biological sons or not, he wanted to kidnap the two children and take them home first!
