He was currently dressed in a baggy hoodie and a casual pair of shorts, along with slightly worn out sneakers. To all bystanders, he must have looked like an ordinary guy who just walked out of the restaurant. However, since no one was paying attention to him, Seth figured his Cloaking Spell was working just fine. ‘Can’t believe I’m so broke that I have to sneak out without paying for the meal I ate…’ His sigh was heavy. Still, Seth didn’t feel too bad about it all. He was far more concerned with his current strength—or the lack thereof. “What’s with these meager numbers, though…” Seth mumbled to himself. He couldn’t believe he suffered for sixty-six years in literal Hell for something like this. ‘I can’t judge yet, though. I don’t know how the System judges Stats.’ Plus, since he was the only one with the System, he couldn’t really see the Status Window of others—not that they had one. ‘In essence, this is all useless unless I find someone or something to compare myself to.’ He raised his head and smiled while noticing a black line stretching to the sky in the far horizon. ‘I should probably test out my abilities there. If I use that as a chance to grow too, it’s not a bad deal.’ Before challenging the White Tower, Seth figured it was best to go to home territory first. “Alright! I’ve deci—!” “Hey, you! Seth Forsyte!” A voice suddenly interrupted him from completing his pumped-up self acclamation. “H-huh…?” Seth looked in the direction of the one who spoke his name. Amidst a small crowd of people who were going their way, a middle-aged man wearing a formal black suit was staring straight at him. ‘He can see me?!’ Seth was stunned, to say the least. His Spell hadn’t worn off, so he was puzzled by how this random guy was able to detect him. ‘He isn’t a Harbinger, right? No… I don’t detect that power from him. Although…’ “You appear surprised, Seth. Did you really think you could escape my watch? I don’t have this Magic Item for nothing.” The man flexed his glasses as he spoke. ‘Ahh… so that’s what it was!’ Seth’s surprise slowly died down. That this stranger had on was a Magic Item, so it made sense. Magic Items were a gift from the White Tower to humanity—a way to prepare it for what was coming. People who weren’t Harbingers could wield them, and they would still work perfectly well. Because of this reason, Government Bodies and Corporations sought after any useful Magic Item they could get their hands on. Of course, this improved the influence of the Harbingers, who were the only ones that could venture into the White Tower and obtain these Items. ‘I see. So he’s using one. But… judging from the faint glow of energy around his body…’ Seth decided it was better to ask the man, rather than simply stand still and watch. “You’re equipping other Magic Items, right? Your black suit, that watch, and even your shoes… they’re all Magic, right?” “Hmph! Thanks for stating the obvious. Looks like you have eyes.” Seth shrugged as he heard this. A normal person might have felt insulted or agitated, but after suffering under the physical, mental, and emotional a***e of his trainers, Seth no longer had that weakness. The verbal a***e he had received from them was enough to last a lifetime. Compared to them, this man’s insults sounded like sweet compliments. “Who are you? What business do you have with me?” Seth decided to get straight to this point. He didn’t recognize this guy, yet the man knew his full name. The way he was also radiating animosity and glaring at him told Seth that their relationship—-whatever it was—wasn’t a pleasant one. “Are you playing dumb? Or do you seriously not remember? I wouldn’t be surprised at the latter since it would be foolish to play dumb, and your melted brain is indeed capable of stupid things like forgetting...” The man straightened his tie as he uttered such vulgar words to Seth. The latter maintained a calm face as he kept listening. “Stupid things like losing company funds to scammers. Or did you forget about that too?” The moment Seth heard that, he instantly pieced it all together. “You’re from my previous place of work?!” “Hmph!” The man scoffed as she flexed his glasses, almost as if saying “So you’re just figuring that out?” However, a frown rugged at his lips not too long after. “What do you mean ‘previous place of work’? What sort of joke is that?” In response to this clearly ominous question, Seth shrugged uncaringly. “It’s no joke, buddy. I have a new employer. It’s also a shitty place, but the benefits far outweigh what you guys provide.” The frown of the man in glasses deepened. “It doesn’t work that way, and you know it.” Seth shrugged once again. “A lot of things don’t work the way they used to? Don’t you see the Black Towers and all? Get with the times, old man…” The man looked about forty-nine years old, so Seth’s statement must have rang true. However, for some reason, his glare grew more intense than ever. “What the hell are you talking about? I’m just three years your senior!” ‘E-eh?!’ Seth’s eyes popped wide open. Was he 28 years old? That was too absurd, right? He looked like an old man! ‘Could it be… does he know about my real age?’ Adding the sixty-six years he spent in hell with his 25 years on Earth, Serh was actually 91 years old. “So you’re 182 years old? That’s crazy, man! Respect!” Unfortunately, Seth’s polite words did not go well with the self-acclaimed senior. Veins appeared all over his slightly wrinkled face as he began to near Seth. “That’s it…” He loosened his tie and clenched his fist. “… I’m teaching you a lesson!”
