The viewing hall was a vast chamber of glass and light. Dozens of floating crystal screens hovered in the air, each one tuned to a different part of the pocket dimension. Every movement, every clash, every scream from the participants inside was laid bare to those watching here. Rows of seats filled the lower levels, where scouts from various Guilds reclined, scribbling notes, whispering among themselves, and pointing at the candidates that caught their attention. The Guilds had come prepared—agents from the 12 Apostles themselves sat among the crowd, their emblems gleaming like badges of superiority, while smaller Guilds hovered on the fringes, eager to seize whatever scraps the giants left behind. Above, in an elevated balcony, the Harbinger Agency’s examiners observed in silence.
