The Devil's Harbinger

The next couple of decades after that was t*****e. Seth was shown true despair within hell—enough to realize why people so desperately avoided this place. His experience was, quite literally, HELLISH! First of all, the six generals who were meant to tutor him ended up showing him all sorts of horrors under the guise of training. Lilith—the Demonic Succubus. Zagan—The Grinning Despond Asmodeus—The Infernal Seal Beleth—Supreme Warrior Of Hell Paimon—The Roaring Winds And finally… Baal—The Leader of the Six. These Demons looked much different from one another, completely destroying Seth’s stereotypes of the classic demons who had red skin and pitchforks. Only Lilith had crimson skin among the six, but… her appearance was more human-like than Demonic. Unfortunately for Seth, he couldn’t look at her for even one second without receiving her whips. “DON’T YOU DARE FEAST YOUR GAZE UPON ME!” She would say in rage. The other five weren’t much different from Lilith. It seemed they found at least one excuse to despise him from the depths of their heart. Excuses like; “It’s a cruel world, and you’re too weak. Gotta toughen you up!” Or “I hate your guts. I feel like crushing you to your core right now, but since you are the representative of our Supreme Ruler, I’ll just let you off with this.” Even “Don’t expect me to be nice to you just ‘cus our leader chose you. What was that? You’re looking at me? Take thiissss!” Seth was going through so much suffering that he began to question whether this was what he wanted after all. He never asked for much—just decency. It wasn’t like he wanted to be pampered. He knew training was hard, no matter how one sliced it. But this was overkill! He was literally given no breaks, and his tired body was forced to work all round the clock. After the first month, he wanted to quit. He desperately tried reaching the office of his employer—The King Of Hell. Unfortunately for him, the six generals wouldn’t let him. “Do you think we’d let you disturb the rest of our King?” “Someone like you isn’t fit to see him! You can not come before his presence the way you are!” “We won’t allow it! Not until you’ve proven yourself!” Seth wanted to cry back then. What was there to prove? He wanted to quit and simply enjoy whatever t*****e was down here. It had to be much better than the horrors these six were showing him. “Let me gooo!!! Pleaseeee!!! No moreeeee! I can’t take any moreeee! Just pleaseeeee!!” Seth remembered screaming like a pathetic baby as they dragged him away from his goal. If he could kill himself, he would. It was just too much for him. “Pfft! Look at this foolish human. Did you really think you could escape? In response to his wails and whining, his oppressors only laughed at him. “You already signed the contract. There’s no turning back now.” In essence, it didn’t matter how much he regretted his choice. “HAHAHA! YOU’RE STUCK HERE, KID!” He could never escape. Never! “Now let’s get back to training.” Thus, his torturous days—turned years, and eventually decades—continued within the deep underbelly of Hell. Until finally… On the sixth hour of the sixty-sixth year he had spent in the pits of Hell… … Seth was once again bowing before the King Of Hell. “Seth, it is pleasant to see you again. You look a lot different from when you first arrived here.” Of course, he did. The ever-burning flames of this infernal world had hardened his skin. His entire lungs had been strengthened from constantly taking in corrupted air from the toxic atmosphere. His inner organs had all adapted to the difficult rigors of this place. However, this was merely scratching the surface. “So, my champion… my Herald… how do you feel?” Seth slowly raised his head as he heard the question. His perfectly-toned body gleamed as he looked upon the King of Hell in his throne. As he smiled, his long black hair dropped down his shoulders, and his crimson eyes glowed with some deep intent behind them. He was currently n***d, but that wasn’t strange. He wasn’t ashamed. Everything about him echoed perfection—even his ding dong down there. “I feel great, my King. I am ready.” “It seems you are…” The Devil smiled as he nodded at his champion. Sixty-six years in Hell was really nothing in the grand scheme of eternity. “I expected you to have taken longer, but it seems you really were fired-up weren’t you?” No… that wasn’t the case at all! The Six Generals were the ones who made him work overwhelmingly hard. Even when Seth reminded them that they had all the time in the world, none of them listened to him. They only made life unbearable for him. “So, did my generals take care of you well? If they were inadequate or excessive in any way, let me know this instant. I will deal with them for you.” It seemed even the King of Hell was more reasonable than his followers. He had a serious expression on his face, as if waiting for genuine complaints from Seth. The Six were surely in hot water now! The time of judgment had come. Despite that, they all had proud expressions on their faces. It was clear that they didn’t regret anything. They would do the same thing over again if they could. “No… my King. Nothing of that sort happened. Your generals… they treated me well.” Seth answered. As he said this, his grin widened. All the Generals were surprised to hear this from the very one they had tormented. This was the perfect time for payback, yet he had completely waived it. Why? They didn’t teach him to be this weak or benevolent, so why did he let all those decades of unjust suffering slide? Well…there was only one reason. ‘You’ll take care of them for me? No… I don’t want that!’ Seth’s eyes burned with rage as he looked at the six. ‘If I don’t show them despair with my own two hands, I won’t be satisfied.’ He didn’t want anyone else to have that pleasure. ‘Everything you did to me… I’ll make sure I pay you back tenfold!’ Hate, mixed with a strong sense of resolve gripped his heart tightly as he maintained his smiling facade. “Hahaha! Perfect! Just perfect! I knew you were the right one from the moment I laid eyes on you” This was a lie. The King of Hell only selected at random and just happened to place his trust on the human he chose. There was no guarantee that it wouldn’t end up as a bust. But this time… after the training and everything… Seth was standing before him. His training had taken the shortest amount of time, and through it all, he had the perfect attitude—befitting of a representative of Hell. It was perfect! Seth was perfect! “You already know the mission, don’t you?” The King of Hell said to Seth. He nodded instantly. “Ensure you succeed in your task, and you will have everything you could ever desire.” Seth nodded once again. “This world… the one to come… will be OURS!”
