Chapter 12

1072 Words

I was exhausted after the previous evening. I"d had to do three back to back sets, thanks to Mara calling out for her shift. She hadn"t even given a real reason. She was so unreliable. No matter how tired I was, it was time to get up and get on with my day. Rolling out of bed, I pulled my ratty hair into a ponytail and grabbed some workout clothes from the floor. I should have showered before I"d gone to bed, but I"d been too tired to. Now there was no point until after I"d finished exercising. My laundry had been piling up, overflowing a basket in front of the washing machine. Of all the chores in the house, laundry was my least favorite, mostly because I hated wrinkled clothes more than most things in life. If I ran a load of laundry, I had to dry it and immediately fold or hang it up.
