Chapter 23 The garage, at times a warm, inviting place when filled with laughing, smiling faces, and even scowling expressions and curses, struck Jay as cold, unwelcoming, and as hostile as an abandoned building, though less interesting on a dull evening in early January. He hesitated at the threshold. Mark walked off, having let him in the back door leading from the alley. The last time Jay had stood here, he’d been pissed at Dean, but he hadn’t been on edge.
