Camilla's POV I was back there again. In the pack hospital. I saw the pack doctor coming close with the needle. "Don't do this," I begged. "You'll kill my baby." But she didn't listen. No one did. I called for Malakai but he did answer. The needle pierced my arm. Blood. So much blood. On my hands. On the bed. In my mouth. “No!” I shot upright with a scream. My chest heaved. My hair clung to my damp forehead. I touched my stomach with trembling hands, the dream still wrapping its fingers around my throat like a noose. It felt real—so real I could still feel the baby’s tiny heartbeat vanishing beneath my palm. But this time, there was no poison. No pain. No blood. Only silence. I buried my face in my hands, trying to push the dream away. I didn't even know if that was a memory
