SANDIE WATCHED AS the tall, lanky elf stepped out the front door, the fairy with him yammering on about needing ice cream before lunch. He just shook his head as he watched the door close on them. Tourists.
The sound of another door opening off to the side caught his attention, causing him to turn his gaze away from the morning’s checkouts to the side. Basgi stepped into the main lobby, chocolate around his lips as he chewed, the rest of the candy in his hand. He held the uneaten piece of chocolate in the air, grinning with satisfaction. “Now, those people know good chocolate. They must have brought it with them.”
“I wouldn’t let Alizon hear you say that,” Sandie told him. “She might turn you into a candy bar yourself and feed you to the next guests.”
