Chapter Nine SANDIE STARED DOWN at his fuzzy socks which were completely covered in sand, his confusion crinkling his brows. How in the world…? Glancing up, he turned his head in all directions, taking in his surroundings, his unusual surroundings. How did I end up on a beach? Reaching up, he scratched his head, his brows still furrowed as he stared up and down the sandy shore, the salty breeze tousling his thick, gray hair as he shielded his eyes from the brightness of the sun with his hand. He tried to recall the last thing he remembered as he stood there. He had been back at the inn, sitting in his recliner while he sipped hot chocolate and read a book on fairy tales. The fire had been crackling in the fireplace, the snapping and popping of the logs a soft white noise to his evening.
