I freaked out. I shouldn't have because I know exactly how I feel about him, but it happened and I don't know how to take it back. And so after he asked me if I was willing to date him, I spaced out for a while, and then I asked him to give me time to think about it. He said he understood and assured me that he wasn't at all disappointed with my decision. If anything, he respects it and told me to take my time thinking about what he said which made me feel like s**t. And from there, things became awkward real quick. We didn't talk much, it was like the first time we met where he'd quietly study me, then I'd ask him random questions which he'd politely answer, but never really elaborate.
Even the physical affection was totally gone. I can't really complain though, I kinda, in a way,
