I lay on the floor and watched them march into my room, four of them clad in all black.
Then I saw her. May.
She walked in and stood over me, took off her glasses, and looked down on me.
“ I'm here to get my gold necklace, the one I left in the guest room where you slept on that rainy night. It went missing after you left," she stated, firmly.
“What?," I asked, my voice a little loud and laced with disbelief.
I quickly rose from the floor and stood to face May.
“You're unbelievable. You lost your gold and you're only saying it now?” I asked, frustration etched on my features.
"Yes darling,” she teased. " In fact, that is not the only thing that went missing,” she added.
I scoffed and placed one hand on my hip while the other combed through my upheaval hair.
