My phone immediately rang the moment I shut the door.
"s**t. It's them".
My heart literally jumps into my throat. How do I even begin to tell the agency I didn't pull the trigger because, surprisingly, I literally just f****d the guy I was supposed to kill.
I swipe to answer but my thumb freezes. Let it ring one more time. It's just from tiredness. Everything’s spinning a little.
The call goes to voicemail. Thank God. I can’t do their “status report” voice right now.
Lying there staring at the ceiling crack I’ve been meaning to fix forever, my brain keeps replaying stupid details. The way his hand gripped my hip at one point—like he was holding on, not just… enjoying it. And his eyes. He wasn’t the same lazy, cocky ones from the club. Something shifted. Harder. Like he was watching me more than I was watching him.
My phone rang again disrupting what I was thinking, "f**k not again, it's the agency.
"Get yourself to my office immediately", my boss yelled from the other side of the phone.
I hurriedly prepared myself and got a taxi heading straight to the office.
I walked into the office, elegantly and scared, knowing something big was waiting for me. All eyes were on me, it felt like they shot an arrow towards me.
"Sofia!, You messed up the plan, weren't you supposed to kill Diego?. I think I should dismiss you from your job, you aren't competent, I think I will give the job to Sandra!, my boss yelled.
"No not Sandra that b***h, I guess she's happy, she always wanted my position. I needed this job, it would make me get a promotion, "Sir please, one last chance I promise I will get rid of him, I said to him with confidence.
"You just got one chance for this job", my boss yelled at me dismissing me from his office.
Suddenly my phone began to ring, and I was shocked at who was calling, shocked as I looked at the screen of my phone it was Damien, why was he calling I murmured.
"My driver will come get you, send me your location. Before I could ask why he rudely cut the call.
Why would he be calling me, this was the perfect opportunity to get rid of him, one bullet, and the story ends. That's what I thought until everything was about to get a twist.
