"What are you saying ". I shouted in anger
The maid noticed my anger and immediately she fell on the floor.
"Queen Kalika lost the baby ".she spoke with fear in her voice.
"How is that possible". I asked in anger
"My king, she slipped on the floor".
I closed my eyes, so I could control the anger in me
"Get out". I commanded.immediately
she stood up and left my chambers. I walk to the chair and sat on it.
This was the second miscarriage queen Kalika was having, and the empress hasn't been able to conceive after the last miscarriage. as for queen talita she has already given birth to two children, but they are all females.I hissed in frustration as I took a sip of my drink.I closed my eyes and I saw her face .she has been haunting my dreams and thought for the pass three years.never a day goes by, without me thinking of her.I hissed in frustration and stood up. I walk to the garden, so I could get a fresh air .the fresh breeze coming from the garden helped calm my nerves and anger.I stood beside a flower and a beautiful memory flashed in my head. I remembered Melanie, and how she wanted to be like a flower.I hissed in frustration and moved away from the flower.
"Are you alright my king". I look around and saw the empress standing beside me
"I'm fine". I told her
"Is it because of queen Kalika miscarriage".she asked
I hissed and moved away from her
"I don't want to talk about that ". I told her in anger .she must have noticed my mood and decided to drop the matter .she moved closer to me and place her hand on my shoulder
"I will definitely give you an heir ".she spoke those words seriously
I hissed and closed my eyes
"It's not up to you to give ". I told her without looking at her.
"I will surely get pregnant".she spoke up
I just stare at her before leaving her at the garden. I went back to my chambers and told the guards not to let anyone in.
I closed my eyes and went into a deep thought.I remembered how happy I was when melanin gave birth to that child I remembered how I clicked so well with him and I remembered the happy memories we promised each other. if only that baby was mine. I hissed and opened my eyes. I thought of what might become of she and the baby. she must be living a good life with the guard, I thought to myself.
I was still in thought when one of my guard walked in
"What is it". I shouted, "My king the minister is here to see you "
"I told you I wish not to be disturbed". I shouted in anger
"Yes my king, but he said it was an urgent matter and needs to be settled"
I hissed in anger before telling him to let him in.
"Greetings my emperor".the minister greeted
"What is it". I asked irritated
"There is trouble".he replied.
I looked at him and noticed he was having a troubled look
"Tell me ". I commanded
"Our spice just informed us that the enemies are trying to invade one of the villages under you ".
I hissed in frustration and stood up.
"You know what to do". I told him
"Should I tightened the security ".he asked
"Yes, send two hundred guards to that village and tell the village head I will be visiting his village by tomorrow".
"Yes my king ".he said those words and left my chambers.
"Guards". I shouted.immediately a guard ran in

In no time, the chief guard came in
"You sent for me my lord "
"You've must have gotten the message from the minister". I asked
"Yes my king I'm working on it "
"Get the best guard and take them there"
"Yes my king"
"You may leave".he left my chambers .as soon as he left my chambers I saw queen Kalika personal maid walking in .she walked in and kneel before me.
"What is it ". I asked
"My lady wishes to see you".she replied in a calm voice
I gave her a hard look before sitting on my bed.
"Tell her I will come see her but not today". I told her in a commanding tune.
"Yes my Lord".she said those words and left my chambers.
I lazily lay on my bed and was about to sleep when I heard little footsteps.I look up and saw my two years old daughter walking into my chambers.I stood up from the bed and walk up to her. I carried her in my arms and made her sit on my legs
"What is it "I asked in a calm voice .she was my firstborn and was a duplicate of her mother, but she has my green eyes and my deep black hair
"Mama refused me going out with tai".she said it in a wrong way, but I knew what she was trying to say.
"Guards ". I called out
"Yes my Lord"
"Get me tai". I commanded.in no time tai walked into my chambers and knell before me
"You sent for me"
"What is wrong with Mara ". I asked
"She wants to go out of the palace, but the queen refused". She replied
"Why ". I asked
"She said there is insecurity outside the palace".tai spoke up. I looked at Mara and saw how sad she was .she is a kid and needs to play with her age mates, but she is lock up in the four walls of the palace.
“Mara”. I called out
"Papa".she answered with a sad voice
"You want to go out ". I asked
"Yes papa"
"You will go out with Papa tomorrow okay ". I told her with a calm voice
"Really ".she asked
“Yes dear”.she gave me a big smile before hugging me. I chuckled at her behavior and gave her to tai. Tai took her and left my chambers.i hissed and went to bed
