Memories of Last Night

I tried opening my eyes, but couldn't find the strength to do it

The bed felt so soft and comfortable, not like my usual bed made with just wood.where could I possibly be, I imagined. I tried moving my body but noticed there was a stronger one holding me down. I wanted to shout but noticed I don't have the strength to do that. 

The smell coming from the body was so good and tempting .even with my eyes closed I knew this figure wasn't an ordinary person 

With all the strength in me, I tried opening my eyes 

The first thing coming to my sight was the ceiling. I tried moving my body to see who was beside me. 

And to my greatest shock, It was no other person than the king, this isn't possible, what can I be doing in the emperor bed naked. I closed my eyes and memories of last night flashed back. 

I remembered how drunk the king was, and how the news of the empress losing the heir to the throne through a miscarriage .the king has been drinking all day, pouring all his anger on we the maids and servants. Everyone avoided his presence, including his other two queens.

I remembered going into his chamber to ask if I could perform the normal routine of Washing his feet before he retires to bed

I also remember him shouting at me, asking who allowed me in. I couldn't speak or look at him in the face .and when I was about to run away, then he called me back to wash his feet. While washing his feet he started talking about how his three queens couldn't give him an heir, that was the first time I saw the king this weak and angry.

I wanted to comfort him but didn't have the courage to do so. While washing his feet, he requested I undress him and wash his body. While undressing him, he kept talking and crying, saying how unfortunate he was. I didn't know when I use the back of my hands to wipe away the tears dropping from his eyes.

He started laughing and asked if I would join him and have a drink, I couldn't refuse a king. I sat down on the floor beside him and took a sip of the drink.

I opened my eyes trying to remember what occurred after that sip, but couldn't find any memory of it 

immediately I moved away from the king, then I felt a little pain down my abdomen, I raised the sheet and saw that I was naked including the emperor 

“Oh my God, I just had s*x with the king"

I rushed out of the room before anyone could see or notice my disappearance. When I got to my small room, I notice it was just the way I left it last night. I took a deep breath and changed my clothes, I was already late for my duties, I just hope nobody notices the change in me.

I quickly went to the kitchen where other maids and servants were performing their duties.

I was to prepare a bath and food for the king and also take care of the empress. I walked into the empress chamber and greeted her. She didn't answer my greetings, which I'm used to it by now. I quickly set the food tray and walk up to her. I was about to speak when she raised her hands indicating I shut up and leave.

As soon as I left her chamber, I decided to go into the King's Chambers. I could feel my legs shaking as I made my way into his Chambers, so many things were going on my mind. 

“What if the king remembers"

“'what if he orders me to be killed"

“What if he thinks I took advantage of his drunken state”

He will never know he took my virginity 

As I made my way to his Chambers, I saw the chief security guard, walking out from his Chambers with a sad expression. I greeted him and walked in with my head bow.

My head was still down when he spoke to me 

“Set the bath and set the food"

I look up at him and realized he doesn't remember a thing. I also wouldn't have remembered if I didn't wake up on the bed with him.

I felt a little pain in my chest 

“What are you still doing here?”

His voice brought me back from my thoughts. I quickly rush out his Chambers trying to suppress the tears that were coming from my eyes. 

I came back to the king's Chambers, but he was out on the balcony, probably watching the city. I set up his bath and went to him. 

“Your bath is ready, my king"

“You can leave.” he shouted.

I was about to leave when he called me back 

“Were you the maid who washed my feet last night"

I froze when I heard him 

Without looking at him, i immediately answered

“Come closer” he commanded

I moved closer with my hands and legs shaking . I was scared for my life, what if he remembers.

I moved closer to him with my face down 

“Raise your head “he commanded 

I slowly stared at him in the eyes

“I realized I was drunk last night”, did I do anything foolish he commanded 

I was scared to death but couldn't reply to him. He walked up to me and asked again 

“Answer me, did I do anything stupid 

Without knowing what to say, I quickly went on my knees

“You only vomited on me sir"

He quickly closed his eyes, maybe trying to see if he could remember a thing. I kept on praying for him not to remember. 

He opens his eyes and stare at me for a while and hiss

“I wonder why my memory of last night are gone”

He shakes his head and walked out on me

I didn't realize I was holding my breath all this while 

I stood up and went out when I saw the maids who were to dress him walked in

I went to the kitchen and collected his food .he was still in the washroom when I came in. I decided to wait until he was out of the washroom.

When he came out, he ordered us out including the maidens who were to dress him. We all went out

I went to the empress Chambers but could only find her personal maid .she told me the empress won't be needing my service today and wished to be alone 

The palace was quiet today .nobody dares to laugh or talk . we the maids did our jobs quickly and carefully not to anger any of the queens

Today was like every other day to everyone but not to me

When the night came. I went to my little room, change my clothes, and lay on my bed. 

Memories of last night were in my head.

I lost my virginity to the king who can't remember a thing. 

This is a secret only I will know.
