Key had been staying with Ervan at his villa for two days.
Key had originally intended to say goodbye to Ervan today, as she wanted to return to Oxford. After all, a few days away from Oxford was enough for her to simply relax after the incident between her and her ex-boyfriend.
Being trapped on a short vacation with Ervan wasn't so bad for Key, even though she was actually spending all her time in Ervan's large villa.
She didn't mind!
Time passed, and Key occasionally glanced at the clock on the wall, which showed that Ervan, who had told her he was going grocery shopping, hadn't returned for more than two hours.
She thought Ervan would return soon, but the opposite was true!
If she hadn't promised Ervan that she would wait for him at the villa, she might have just left without saying goodbye. But she clearly remembered that she had solemnly promised to wait quietly for him until he returned.
A feeling of anxiety began to creep into her heart. The faint stomping of small feet could be heard in the living room of the large villa.
"Mmm, what's taking you so long, Uncle?" Key whispered, feeling confused.
Key was truly tired of waiting for Ervan, who had no clear idea what time he would be returning to the villa.
"Ugh, I should have just asked for your number so I could contact you," Key grumbled, adorably pouting her lips without realizing it.
Just as Key was about to sit back down on Ervan's large sofa, the doorbell rang several times.
"Uncle!!" Key shouted happily, sprinting towards the villa door.
Until...
Her footsteps stopped, realizing something odd, according to her intuition.
'Why did he ring the doorbell? Couldn't he have opened the door himself? Then who's visiting? Does he have a guest?'
That was the first thought that immediately occurred to Key's intelligent mind.
The hairs on the back of her neck suddenly stood on end. Key swallowed hard, her breathing becoming slightly irregular, trying to suppress the fear that had briefly crept into her heart.
'That's okay, maybe it's his guest,' Key thought, trying to think positively.
Key's hand was already outstretched on the doorknob, but the girl seemed busy weighing the pros and cons of her next course of action.
'Uncle... where are you? You didn't abandon me, did you?' Key thought, starting to panic slightly.
With some hesitation, Key finally decided to open the villa door.
Two young men in black suits, their bodies strong, were facing her.
"W-..who are you? Uncle isn't here. If you want to visit, please come another time when he's here," Key squeaked nervously.
Instantly, the two young men's faces, which had initially been cold to softened, and a slight smile could be seen on their faces.
"We were assigned by Mr. Galen to look after you, Miss," the two young men said almost in unison, as if their words had been rehearsed.
"Mr. Galen? Are you referring to Uncle?" Key asked hesitantly.
The young man in front of Key smiled and answered briefly with a 'Yes'.
"So where is Uncle? I want to return to Oxford, so I have to let him know," Key said.
"Sorry, Miss, for the time being, Mr. Galen has instructed us not to allow you to return to Oxford, and we cannot inform you about Mr. Galen's whereabouts. Mr. Galen will contact you himself."
Key furrowed her brows.
"Does Uncle know my number?" Key asked, confused.
One of the young men handed Key a goodie bag, which he had been holding.
"Mr. Galen told me to give this to you, Miss."
Key looked dumbfounded. She couldn't understand why Ervan was treating her like a princess who needed to be closely guarded. Oh come on, she's just an ordinary girl, used to being independent without any protection from anyone!
‘Who would be targeting me?’ Key thought to herself as she took the goodie bag the young man had given her.
A moment later, the cell phone in the box inside the goodie bag rang.
Key immediately brought the goodie bag to her ear.
"Is this the phone that's ringing?" Key asked innocently.
After confirming that it was the phone in the goodie bag, Key immediately took it and answered the call.
"Hello."
"Hello Key, have you met your new bodyguard?"
"Bodyguards? Ah, that's enough, Uncle."
Key stared at the two young men still standing in front of her, trying to comprehend the situation and Ervan's words.
"Okay, from now on, you'll be under their protection. If you need anything, just tell them, or you can call me at this number."
"Hm, okay, Uncle..."
Key paused for a moment.
"What's wrong?"
"Where are you, Uncle? Why aren't you at the villa?"
"I have urgent business, I'll probably be home tonight or tomorrow. Take care of yourself. You shouldn't trust anyone other than my two bodyguards."
Key reflexively squeaked in surprise and spontaneously asked Ervan the reason. However, Ervan was reluctant to tell Key, telling her to follow his instructions.
Key hesitated, but finally, she just hummed softly like a child, nodding her head cutely. Unfortunately, only his two bodyguards could see it, not Ervan.
"Okay, don't go anywhere yet."
"Tch, why are you so talkative now?" Key snapped, complaining directly to Ervan.
Ervan, who was on the other end of the phone, seemed to be holding back laughter when he heard Key's complaint.
After the conversation, Ervan hung up.
Key's eyes were now busy looking up and down at the two young men Ervan had said were her new bodyguards.
"Mmm, Uncle said you're my new bodyguards. So what should I call you?" Key asked innocently, looking at the two young men in turn.
"My name is Chan, miss," said the young man with a half-Asian face and a height of about 180 cm.
"My name is Ethan, miss," said the young man with blue eyes.
The two young men immediately introduced themselves.
"Okay, Uncle Chan, and Uncle Ethan, you should go inside. He forbids me from going out today," Key said, beckoning the two bodyguards.
The two of them nodded in unison and, of course, followed Key's footsteps as they led them into the spacious, seemingly uninhabited villa.
Key casually sat back down on the sofa she'd been sitting on, while Chan and Ethan remained standing nearby.
Key stared at the two bodyguards with a confused look.
'Why aren't Uncle Chan and Uncle Ethan sitting?' Key asked herself, busy observing her two bodyguards, who were constantly standing as if they were supposed to stay there.
"(cough), Uncle Chan, Uncle Ethan, please sit down. I don't feel comfortable seeing you standing, I'm younger than you," Key said, looking at them both.
Chan and Ethan glanced at each other and finally agreed with Key's statement.
"So, does any of you know who the person who's after me is?"
Silence...
No answer from either of them!
It was like a stray bullet suddenly fired from a gun, now aimed at Chan and Ethan simultaneously, following Key's unexpected question, which hadn't previously touched on the subject.
"Hey, didn't you hear my question?" Key asked again when she didn't receive an answer.
"Excuse us, miss. Mr. Galen forbade us from telling you about this."
Key reflexively pursed her lips, busy grumbling at Ervan's attitude, who seemed to be playing a riddle with her.

"You didn't try contacting her?"
The young man who had been asked the spontaneous question stopped in his tracks.
"Who?" the young man asked casually, staring at the girl who had been holding his hand.
The girl twirled her eyes lazily. She was truly too lazy to say the name of the girl who could be considered her best friend and rival.
"What do you think?"
A soft chuckle escaped the man named Kenzo Albert Coen.
"I can't be bothered, besides, now is the time for me to enjoy my time with you, isn't it?" Kenzo whispered, casually caressing the cheek of the girl beside him.
Stella, the nickname of the girl who was now seen intimately with Kenzo, was still in a relationship with Key-Cailey some time ago.
‘I'm sorry, Key. It seems it's not my fault that your boyfriend is more interested in me.’
The two of them looked very affectionate as they walked into a hotel in the Oxford area and headed to one of the restaurants there.
