Dylan's POV I stood in the long passageway of the dungeon, my eyes fixed on Ava as she stood before me. Damon had just finished explaining why Ava had been kept in the dungeon, and I was still trying to process everything. "So, let me get this straight," I said, my voice low and even. "Ava was trying to run away from the pack, and she was caught by the border patrol?" Damon nodded, his eyes serious. "Yes, Alpha. That's correct." I felt a surge of anger, but I pushed it aside. No one is allowed to leave the pack without seeking permission. It wasn't just a new rule, the rule had existed long before I was born. I only needed some measures to make sure it was kept in place. If Ava had done something like this, especially when the pack is under so much tension, then something must be wrong
