Ava's POV
I strolled across the paved walls of the pack house with Marietta, enjoying the glint of the moonlight on my skin. The pack house was bustling with activity, but I felt at peace. Everyone was preparing for the festivities that will come later tonight.
Marietta had told me of the ritual of the Alpha treating the pack members to a banquet every once a year. And today's night just happens to be this year's banquet so everyone seems expectant.
“They look so happy about this banquet,” I tilted my head towards the young ladies decorating the pack hall. “Is there more reason to that?”
I saw a smile curve the edge of Marietta's lips as she observed the girls briefly before turning back to me.
“They are always like that whenever it's time for Alpha to hold the banquet” she explained.
