"Ava, I know this isn't easy to hear, but I've found out the cause of your mother's death," I said gently.
I watched Ava's face closely as I delivered the news. Her eyes widened, and her mind seemed to be racing. I could almost see the gears turning in her head.
At that moment, Gamma Damon stepped forward, his expression somber. "Ava, your mother died of natural causes. Her illness had progressed to the point where her wolf couldn't take the pain anymore."
Ava's eyes flashed with anger. "There was nothing natural about my mother's death," she argued.
I sighed, knowing this wasn't going to be easy. I pulled out a folder from my desk drawer and handed it to Ava. "This is the autopsy report. It confirms that your mother's death was due to complications from her illness."
