CHAPTER 27ADOPTION OR BONDAGE?
It was the beginning of December by the time Darius finalized the smuggling mission in Conakry and drove back down to Monrovia. He wanted to regroup with Craig and Larry in the clandestine offices of the CIA in the American Embassy. The dry season had gotten underway with a vengeance and the smallest outdoor task seemed to take hours’ worth of energy. The Embassy’s offices were air-conditioned, so tedious paperwork was now actually considered a pleasure.
Shortly after arriving back in Monrovia, Darius went straight to Larry’s office.
“Did you wrap things up in Guinea?” Larry asked, looking up from the document he had been reading.
