CHAPTER 38:
A REVELATION
Fear filled Bella as she sat on a towel looking out at the ocean, the sea breeze feather–light on her cheeks. She prodded her toes in the sand and played with the fine granules as she poured them from one hand to another. The warm sun kissed the skin left exposed by her white singlet top and black shorts. Liz lay beside her with her eyes closed, no doubt enjoying the quiet and the sun on her bare back. She wore a bikini top and short jean skirt.
Children in the water threw a plastic ball to one another while a man dived nearby, swimming to a floating raft further out in the water. Beachgoers lazed on towels, walked along the shore picking up shells, and swam over the cycles of shallow waves.
