Chapter TwelveAnd all too soon I was awake again. The clock in my room doled out its long chimes, heralding that I had been asleep for all of twelve minutes. Sitting at the footboard of my bed was a very disturbed-looking Vulk. I was unsure how he had crept into my room, but the old dog had his ways. There should be something very disturbing about finding a werewolf sitting at the end of one’s bed, even a friendly one. The knowledge that, while asleep, a creature of horror and nightmare had found its way into your room without you being aware of its presence was enough to cause you never to sleep again without a crucifix or a chain of purest silver over your bedhead.
