Chapter Twenty-ThreeIt was too late in the day to get any sleep, not that there was much chance of that now anyway as I was abuzz with adrenaline and this new information. We now not only knew how the killers were moving through the house, but how they were getting into the building without being seen. Suddenly the affair seemed less supernatural and more strategic. Instead of sleeping I walked into the kitchen and took a cup of tea. The cooks were baking and stewing up a storm, and I assumed this meant they had received word the police would be arriving tonight in large numbers again.
