Angel’s rage radiates off us all the while my bones snap as my muscles spasm causing my body to shake uncontrollably. Slowly but surely my body shape then reforms into something entirely different, something that was only in fairy tales but so were werewolves, so. Unlike my first shift the pain didn’t fade away it stayed like it wasn’t going away anytime soon. I force myself to stand and instead of rising to all fours as before this time I rise to twos. I felt like I was back in my human form for a split second well that was until I spotted Trent gapping at me in his wolf form as I steadily rose higher and higher to my feet which far surpasses his massive height that once matched mine. I look down to my new form and am frightened out of my raged blood lust. I step backwards several times, making the surrounding earth to shake.
I trip over something large and hard behind my feet like paws. The ground, trees and all creatures around shake from the sudden force of the impact. I'm so far past terrified I keep trying to scoot further away from everyone whimpering. I scoot myself back into a large tree hyperventilating in the process. I also failed to notice everyone else’s reaction or that Trent had quickly shifted back to his human form cautiously easing himself to me not caring that he is naked for all to see. Once Trent has reached me he gently rests his hands onto my clawed hands. I jerk backwards in an attempt to keep everyone away from me in my new monstrous form.
More whimpers came from me with the overwhelming scent of fear surrounding me. His eyes flash with hurt as he scoots closer to reattempt to calm me. That's when he was finally able to connect with me via mind link. “Hey Ray, …Baby Everything will be alright.” I shake my head, responding barely above a whisper “How?!” Despair dripped from my single question. Trent’s eyes soften as he places his hands on both sides of my face “Because we will face the unknown together my Luna.”
I can feel the emotional roller coaster of his emotions projected to me. My eyes widen as I gasp soaking in every bit of his unbridled emotions. The next thing I do is close my eyes basking in his reassurance, love, and confidence. Without realizing it my shift is forced by me and my wolf sneaks back to the recesses of my mind still shaken from our new form as well as our sudden blood lust. The pain of the shift is mostly dulled but when it is unignorable I whimper every so often here and there until the shift is finally over. I release a sigh of content being completely back in Trent’s embrace. Exhaustion quickly pulls me into the darkness but just before it does I hear him speak “Rest now my Luna.”
Everything around me fades as I hold onto my mate's voice snuggling closer to him as he carries me.
I am stuck in a dreamless state for a short time until images of us filter through my mind, some I recognize as memories while others are entirely different. Images of the first time we met at school hit me but some of it seems off. I tilt my head to the side as I walk closer to the light ghostly glow of images unfolding before me. His eyes are the same gorgeous hazel blue eyes with specks of green. What was different was how both our eyes changed his turning dark blue as mine turned sky blue. Then another image appears of us and Sam at the forest party.
I shake my head in disbelief as it focuses in front of me. The image of Trent and I alone near a secluded part of the party with him pinning me to the tree as I basically attempt to jump his bones. Utter embarrassment flushes my cheeks “Oh please tell me that didn’t actually happen.” I hear an angelic like laughter echoing around me. I spin around several times searching for the voice’s origins but to no avail. “Oh I assure you it did, human.” I spin back around in time to see me pin Trent to the tree jumping onto him wrapping my legs and arms around him quick enough for him to pin my back up against the tree he was just pinned to by me.
I watch as I kiss him with such primal need. I cover my face the moment I notice that I am also grinding myself onto his erection. His possessive growl of approval sends shivers down my spine causing heat to pool between my legs. The feminine voice barks out in laughter again. Irritation gets the best of me at last. I yell out in frustration “WHO ARE YOU?!” The image changes as I see myself running through the woods back to Sam and I’s cottage.
I watch as I am panting uncontrollably struggling with an internal battle. My eyebrows knit in confusion with vague remembrance. I watch more intently seeing the other two arrive then with us at the table as I brush off what happened at the party as not feeling so well. Then Sam’s innocent joke hits the image of me in the ghost like memory. The ghost like me snaps in some way releasing a dangerously thunderous growl emanating from me. I jolt forward the split second I realize that the apparition me is going to lunge at Sam I scream “NO!!!” I watch in horror when I can’t seem to stop the other me.
The mysterious voice speaks softer as if ashamed “I truly am sorry, I just was able to break free from being caged most of our lives and became overly possessive of our mate.” I straighten up quickly “Wait ... .Angel?” I can feel the joy hit me out of nowhere “Yes, it's me.” I'm confused all over again “Where are we and what are these apparitions?” Angel sighs “It's our memories that were suppressed from the spell our mom had put on us for our protection.” “Ok, so I'm assuming that this is the same spell that was meant to suppress you as well.” She huffs “Yea like I could ever be suppressed, and I am you just another half of you.”
I scratch the back of my head trying to fully gather what she means “So you're me but not me at the same time?” Angel rolls her eyes as if saying duh. I just ask my question anyway “How exactly does that work?” The best way I can explain her reaction is by saying she was laying on her belly then laying her head down covering her face and snot with her paws “It's sorta close to that I guess, think of it like this.” “We are two separate sprites with similar essence coexisting in your body but can change into my body whenever needed or wanted.” I nod my head slightly understanding her better. “What about how we have separate feelings?” She shakes her head “Ray you're overthinking this entire thing, we have the same feelings we just may have different opinions is all.”
I rub my head from gaining a migraine “I think your right about that” Angel smiles “As far as what you call apparitions they are actually our memories from the spell like curse that we just recently broke so everything that we remember separately is now coming back to us in the proper sequence of events as it occurred.” Heat creeps up to my face while I cover my face in complete embarrassment “I cant believe that actually happened.” I immediately gasp, popping my head up “s**t!!! WE f*****g ATTACKED SAM!!!!!” “Everything is fine, Trent stopped us before we could hurt her.” I finally relaxed a bit only to understand why she’s been somewhat distant. I drop to my knees crying angry with myself and Angel only seems to share my current feelings.
She tries to comfort me as well “I'm sure she understands Ray.” I hiccup, nodding “I hope so.” For a while we watch memories from my childhood where she occasionally came out all the way to the present time when she breaks the silence once the memories fade away “It's time to return.” I whip the remaining tears from my face “Will Mom be alright?” I can feel her worry mirroring mine “I sure hope so” I sigh “Either way we will be there for her.” That seems to slightly cheer her up. Slowly but surely the darkness fades away. Each passing second I become more and more aware of my surroundings like how it appears to be bright or how it smells like sterile anesthetic. I groan, squinting my eyes open in attempts to shield my eyes from the bright light.
