After the kiss episode, Ruby made sure to avoid Cameron completely, even though it was almost close to impossible to do. She would always wake up extra early to cook for the kids, went back into her room until she was sure it was time for him to get ready for work, and then she would go out to get the kids ready for school, pack their lunch and sometimes take them to school.
