Chapter 12: Family HistoryMarika stared at the screen and then down at the swirls on the black desk. This was nothing like the desks, chairs, or blackboards at the schools. She wondered what sort of material went into these items. They looked like nothing she knew. Dickon was still fussing at her as he stood in the doorway.
“We need to go back. The horses need us.”
She turned enough to look at him. “Then go back,” she exploded. “I'm staying here.” She turned back to the screen and opened the folio to the first page of instructions.
You must press the large blue swirl on the left of the screen on the desk. This will open the crystal I have left in place and will open the screen. You will see the blue light come on and the screen will show my face. I will be telling you what to do next. Y
