It clawed through memories I had buried deep—dragged through blood, fire, and grief. “No…” Vincent whispered behind me. “That’s not possible.” But it was. I stepped forward slowly, my wolf rising beneath my skin with violent, uncontrollable force. “You died,” I said, my voice low and dangerous. “I watched you die.” The man smiled.Not kindly, Not mockingly Knowingly. “Did you?” he asked. My chest tightened. Because suddenly… I wasn’t sure. The Past That Refused to Stay Buried His face was the same. Older, perhaps. Sharper. More hollow in a way that made him seem less human… less wolf. B
