A windy Journey

"How is everything going on so far Esther? Father asked as he pours two glass of juice on two glasses that were on top of his table.

"Everything is good father, thanking you for asking, how about you?"

"Well, i can't lie, i had a very long day and that is why i called you here so i could share it with you." He stops and takes a sip of his juice before he could go on.

"You see Esther when i was young i was very ambitious about everything in life and i lived the best life so far according to how i saw it, but now you see Esther all these years of my work i have always wanted a good and very happy life but i have come to realise that happiness is never guaranteed in life" Esther is curious to hear the fathers story and is almost becoming impatient since she does not seem to realise where the fathers words were heading to.

"Today, i walk up very early in the morning and received a call, and it was not any ordinary call Esther" he pauses and pushes his chair backwards and opens one of his drawer and takes out an envelope and puts it on the tables before them. Esther is quiet and humble just waiting for everything and she is ready to take anything.

"Open this envelope Esther" he pushes it slowly next to Esther's side. Esther hesitates a little bit but decides to open it while looking at father Edward's eyes expecting anything but she had no clue at all. She was so tensed at the moment as she took out the document from the envelope. She unfolds it and places it on the table.

"Don't be afraid Esther have a look at its contents" Esther goes on to look at it and to her surprise it was from the court but a different letter. She now starts to have a hint of where everything is going.

"I know right now you have a lot of questions in your head and you might be wondering why i am showing you all this". It was so true but father Edward did not look like a happy man from the look of his face,he was always strong and never had a sad face but for the first time Esther saw him at his worst state and she was not happy at all.

"Are you familiar with any of those, i know you are and that is why we are here".

She now knew it, father Edward already knows that she was in this room earlier, how he knew is what she did not know totally,well it could be Sarah but it did not make any sense since Sarah was not that kind of a talkative lady. She was now feeling guilty and even almost apologised before she was stopped by father Edward.

"Don't worry Esther, it is all my fault, i have messed up big time and as we sit here i do not know what to do totally, i trust you and i have no other person to talk to and you are the only one i choose to share this issue with, before i tell you anything i need you to protect my name after this Esther since i do not have enough time at all". Well at first Esther thought it was a light matter but she now gets uneasy about everything, hed heart starts pounding so hard since the words that came from father Edward's mouth were not something somebody could take so lightly.

She at one point even feel like running out of the door and her legs are shaking so bad. Father Edward does not look at her on the eyes anymore and he does not look the same.

"I have a son Esther, and this is the longest i have kept it a secret, i have always wanted to take care of my little boy but all this has always been an issue, i never knew how to deal with everything since i have always been alone all this time and now he has been taken away from me for good" Esther is now shocked to a point that she can not even move, father Edward's eyes starts flowing with tears and Esther is now emotional. She now does not know anything to do and she is even more than confused. Father Edward bursts into tears as he goes on drinking his juice. Esther stands up and decides she can not take it anymore. She runs out of the room but does not know who to call or who can help in such a situation. She reaches the kitchen and finds everybody laughing as they were in a good mood and telling up stories. She even feels invisible and starts running again. She reaches at the children's room and passes. She has no option but to go back to the office and try to calm down the father. She walks as fast as she could and reduces her pace as she approaches the office door. She walks slowly you could think sje was trying to sneak in, she starts hearing the soobbing from the office but gains courage and enters in. Father Edward is now facing at the ceiling still unmoved with Esther's presence.

"Calm down father, everything will be okay" she tries to calm him down.

"Nothing will ever be okay!" He knocks on the table so hard that he almost spills his juice and it was at this point that Esther realises that he has another glass of a drink that she belives its wine but not sure at all. He finishes the remaining portion at the glass and stands up.

"Sit down Esther, this is where it all ends" father Edward says as he walks out. Esther goes next to his chair and spots a bottle of wine and some small packet of drugs. She takes it and it comes clear to her that father Edward was trying to commit suicide.
