A Neck For a Neck

Jane quickly forces herself through the gate and gets in, Gabriella still on the other side hands her the keys.

“Okay your turn, hurry up” Jane says to her. Gabriella looks at her body and realizes she cannot make it passed the gate.

“I cant make it Jane, look at me , you have to go” she tells her and the tension grows each second.

“You have to try Gabriella, I am not going anywhere without you” she says to her and the footsteps keep getting closer.

“Then we both die here Jane, go right now or they kill the three of us, I can handle this, I will buy us sometime” Gabriella tells her and takes out a sharp knife from her pocket. She signals her to run away. Jane slowly moves to a corner tears coming from her eyes as she sees Gabriella trying to sacrifice her life so that she could save her daughter, the guard suddenly appear and Jane sees everything going on and tries so hard to remain undetected, Gabriella stood no chance to take out the guard but she goes on with it, the guard kicks the knife out of her hands and quickly picks it, she tries to hit him but the last thing Jane sees is the guard putting the knife straight through her heart, Jane falls down on the floor not believing her eyes, Gabriella fights back and manages to pull out the knife and without expecting it, she stabs the guard straight in his neck, they both groan in pain as they fall to their death. It was a scene that Jane was never going to forget till her death.

She quickly gets up and runs to the cells, looking around in each one of them, she realizes a lot of empty cells locked up, she runs checking each single cell and finally comes to the last one.

“Hey! Hey!” She tries waking her up as she keeps on opening the door.

“Muumm!” Laura can’t believe what she is seeing right now, she quickly gets up and goes to the door.

“I am getting you out of here baby, those bastards were going to kill you”.

“Not so fast woman!!” A voice comes from a distance and at this point Jane knew it was all over.

“Congratulations woman, you have successfully earned yourself a death sentence” the old rusty voice hits them in shock as the old alpha walked towards them with several guards.

“Lock them up!!!” He orders the guards.

“Dad, let me handle this, leave the thief to me” Eric says from behind at this point Laura could feel it was about to head on another direction, maybe Eric might have changed his mind and this could be it.

“Just don’t mess anything up, no creepy games, I want them dead by tomorrow, you know the rules” he says straight at Eric’s face with pure evil in his eyes, he was so angry that everyone in the room stood still listening to him.

“Okay dad” he responds and looks at Laura straight in the eyes as his dad walks away with the guards.

He stands looking at the two of them locked in the cell.

“You two aren’t different at all huh, there is no way you could have left this place lady, you make decisions like cowards and now look at you, anyway have a great night, I have to take care of something” he says and leaves them as one guard locks everything up.

“I am so sorry my love this turned out this way” Jane says to Laura.

“You shouldn’t have come mama, I was trying to handle it, you know I’m tough mum” Laura says as she hugs her tightly.

“Gabriella followed me and now.. “ she says while crying.

“Now what, did anything happen to her, where is she!” Laura asks her.

“She didn’t make it, I watched her die Laura, I caused all these as I tried to force her into this.” She says and she could not handle the pain anymore, it was too much for them. They had barely known her and now their actions had already lead to her death. It was such a pain and they had to live with the guilt.

“Listen to me mum, we will get out of here and we will take revenge every single pain they have brought to us, remember we have a life outside here, we cant just let that life go away, we have to be strong for Gabriella” she says to her as she hugs her even tighter.

They spent the entire night in the cold cell grieving and mourning Gabriella, the following day starts with some bad news as they hear screams and wailings from outside.

Jane wakes up immediately as the wailing goes on, she wakes up her daughter and they all are confused with what was going on but it did not sound good at all. She calls one guard and she yells them that a huge problem had fallen among them, their old Alpha has been found dead that morning and the news spread so fast.

“That serves them right, who did he think he was, he had no right over us” Laura says and she seemed so happy about the sudden news since everything else will be focused on the death but not them, they could even use this chance to try and come up with something, perhaps a way to escape and this time they had to do it smart and fast.

“What are we going to do now that the whole pack is vulnerable, we need to leave this place Laura” Jane says to her.

“I know of a way mum, this might sound crazy but I think I can entice that son of a b***h, Eric, he can be of great use to us” she says to her mum.

“Don’t tell me you are planning to sleep with that coward, he is of no good to us just like his deceased father” Jane says to her.

“Now that’s where we take the advantage mum, open your eyes and sew, he is going to be the one incharge of the pack, he mentioned something of me being her mate.
