The town is so windy and all noisy as Esther stands out of the shops main door and no words can describe how beautiful she looks. She gets out dressed up in the red dress and someone could find it hard to tell the difference between sister Esther and the beautiful young lady she is right now. Some group of men were passing by and kept on staring at her. They said nothing to her not because she did not look good but because they did not have so much courage to face such a beautiful lady. She takes a deep as she looks around feeling like a young child who has just been born again.
She decides to take a step and she had never felt that happy as she walked down the streets headed to the bus stop. She had put all her nun clothes in her bag and had no idea what to do with them but their was no way on earth she ever thought of throwing them away since they kept a long part of her life's story. It is not that she had left the Catholic church or given up in it at all, she just decided to give herself a break from everything that had happened. She was feeling so energetic and was even more free with people. She oftenly greets people on her way to the bus stop and this amazes a lot of people since she was totally unfamiliar to them.
She gets at the bus stop and takes a bus headed at the countryside and it was about a two hour journey. She did not know what her home looked like now and had no idea how her reception will be back home after spending a lot of time outside and away from her parents.
She was not at peace of mind at all and so anxious about going back home, she had to expect whatever news she would find home since she has stayed for long without communicating with her parents. They now enter the countryside and their journey grows shorter and shorter. The area begins looking familiar to her and she already knows she is approaching home. They had now traveled for two and a half hours and the bus comes to a stop. Esther picks her bag and gets out and the bus dissapears living a huge cloud of smoke behind. Esther tries to look far away at the sunset and she can see the road that leads her home. All memories of her following that road still are so clear in her head and knows every single corner of it.
She passes the neighborhood and nothing seems to have changed a lot though she really felt safe once more and all the old feeling of being home came back to her. She was now just some meters away to their house and she could clearly see their house though it was now getting dark.
A couple of years a go she left this place after having some trouble with her dad and went to join the Catholic nun community and now she stands infront of their house. Some light can be seen through the windows meaning that someone was in. She reaches the door and hesitates to knock, she sees someones shadow walking by and believes it's her mother. She takes a deep breath and turns around to look at her dress, brushes her hair with her hand and makes sure she looks perfect before knocking.
She raises her hand to knock but the shadow she sees through the curtains approaches the door and her hands remains up, the door is opened slowly and her eyes remains wide open from the shock that she gets.
A young boy opens the door and sees Esther standing and she returns her hand down.
"Hello" she greats Esther.
"Close the door Victor it's getting cold in hear" Esther is hit with that voice and she is so much relieved because she really thought she was dreaming. It was her mother's voice from the kitchen.
"Their is a visitor mom" Victor responds to her mom who was singing while cooking and she suddenly stops singing.
"Who is it?" She asks as the silence fills the entire room.
Esther is standing at the door getting confused about everything and of course this were the kind of surprises she expected, she could not wait to see her mom again.
"It's a lady mom, looks a lot like you if i am not wrong" Victor shouts while staring at Esther in the eyes as Esther stares back, it feels so funny at the moment and confusing but she helds her laughter. Victor seems to be a very funny kid and so jovial. As he is still holding the door and Esther standing before him holding her bag with her two hands on her laps.
Her mom is silent and still shocked in the kitchen, she is heard rushing things up and asks no more questions.
"Moooom!!" Victor shouts again getting impatient. They stand their saying nothing ad they hears the footsteps coming closer and closer. Esther's eyes fixed on the kitchen door and she comes out, still strong and looks good. She was the only woman who knew her so well. She had really missed her and could not hold her tears back. Tears starts falling from her eyes standing their unmoved. Her mom too had no words to express how she felt when she saw her one and only daughter back home unexpectedly.
She runs in leaving her bag at the door and gives her a big hug, Victor still looking at them and had already figured out who she was. He takes the back and struggles it and closes the door. Je stands their looking at them still hugging.
"So i am not getting a hug after all" he interferes with the emortional moment and they both look at him.
"Get out of here you stubborn brat" Esther's mom says as victor laugh's out load.
"Welcome back home my daughter" she says holding her shoulder and this is the point she notices her dress.
