The Kind Soul

She stares for long without nobody noticing it, looks at him in the eyes and everything is quiet in the room for her. She only sees his lips moving,looks at his eyes and she seems like she is not even there,he keeps on talking and everybody claps for him randomly after and this keeps repeating itself and for a moment Esther becomes very uncomfortable,she feels like she is in the wrong place since she did not understand anything for a second and she stands their unmoved. She feels invisible again as Brian and father Edward start giving the food stuffs to the children, everybody is happy while receiving all the gifts.

"Come on sister,cheer up lets have a good time" father Edward waves at Esther who comes back to her senses and tries to behave normally and joins them.

"Hello Esther are you even with us" this question hits her so had and she hesitates to look behind her since she believes that he might be her worst nightmare. She is a strong and very smart lady, she turns and shakes brians hand , he smiles back at her.

"Its been a while sister,never knew we could meet again ,it seems like a coincidence, i mean it looks like a coincidence though..." Says Brian.

"Is it ..?" Esther asks while strongly maintaining eye contact with him.

"I believe so, you've met me earlier Esther, i guess you now know my willingness to offer an helping hand at any point" Brian tries to play smart by trying to make it look like it was the donations that brought him at the orphanage but Esther is not easy to believe it. She remembers the last statement he said to her before she took the vehicle to the orphanage and immediately can figure out what is going on in his mind and it was even easy for small kid to connect all the dots and figure it all out. It was not just a matter of donations. It was more than that. It was more than an helping hand it she clearly knew it but she did not know why she had these thoughts herself yet it was very impossible for a person who has dedicated his life to serve in the house of the lord to have such thoughts.

Father Edward on the other side enjoys every moment of it since it had been a while since they received any support from well-wishers and he saw it as a special day for him and the children and whoever was at the facility.

"You are really a blessing to us Esther, having such great friends who support you in your work must be a rare thing to find" father Edward joins them and laughs while saying this. Brian is so happy as he hears this from father Edward and he even starts to see how it is going to be so easy to be welcomed at the facility at any time he would wish to come and his plans seems to be working out so perfectly. No one knew of his intentions except for him and Esther who had all the doubts and reasons to doubt him but she had no one to talk to about this and had to keep this to herself since sharing it to father Edward was more than impossible and she had to keep it that way.

The children keep on enjoying all the good stuffs they had received and they could be spotted thanking Brian each and every time as he goes on with his conversation with Esther and father Edward.

"You will have to excuse me,there is this letter i have to send it, won't you mind if you give me a minute, i will be back before you even know it" father Edward requests.

"It's no problem sir, just take your time" Brian answers him back as they watch him leave the room. They stay quiet for about a minute and what is going on through their mind nobody is only known to them. They might be thinking of the same thing and the silence continues and becomes more weird. Esther's little friend breaks the entire silence as he approaches them innocently and Brian is relieved from all this.

"Auntie would you mind trying some biscuits" he hands Esther a packet of biscuit and she has no choice but to take it since he was the sweetest and most caring child she ever knew. He runs away and joins the other kids and continue having some more fun. They are now back again in the same silence. Brian thinks in asking her about the place and how she is fairing on but he thinks that might be so silly. He wonders how he finds it so easy seducing other women but this time it was all a different scene that he will live to remember years after.

"You really like kids dont you?" Esther finally breaks the silence and asks him.

"Yeah sister,i love kids a lot but ... i also.. uhhmm" Brian struggles talking and even curses why even thought of making this weird plan of coming to the orphanage.

"Hey, am listening..." He is reminded again by Esther and this time he frees his heart and is ready to tell her what he wanted to tell her.

"Okay Esther, it's nothing serious... " Father Edward enters the room before Edward could complete his sentence and find them at the same spot he left them.

"Having, a good time?" He joins them once more and always in a jovial mood. He hardly notices something fishy going on and he encourages the happy time to go on.

"Okay father, am very very much great full for this time but i think i need to get going so i cant be late, i have a long journey." Brian says looking at his watch and the father agrees with him. He calls the children together and they all make a prayer before he could leave.
