Desperate Moments

"Hey Uncle, are you looking for something?" The young boy who has been looking at Brian all this time notices him.

"Nothing at all, i am just observing" Brian answers him and sits down.

"You know i can see it in your eyes uncle" Brian comes to his senses and realises that the child is talking sense and he might be able to atleast help him. He smiles back at him stands up and bends towards him.

"What is your name?" Brian asks him.

"I am Bob" he answers him without even hesitating. "I saw you walking by the corridor and realized you might be looking for something" well he was just getting too far and this meant that he was just sitting somewhere looking at him. Brian decides to walk with him out of the rest and they go outside. After a little interrogation and chatting, Bob finally agrees to have seen someone passing before Brian but hesitates mention the name. "What is the big deal, why are you looking for the guy uncle, did he do anything wrong?" Bob becomes so had and his curiosity is just making it hard for Brian to atleast know how to cover everything up and it becomes even more risky each and every second since he has no idea if the message has been passed on to several people.

"Just go back in Bob" he has now had enough of it and cannot keep on with it.

Bob runs in and as Brian raises his head, he has already dissapeared and closes the door. He sits their for a while but he cannot just figure anything out. He stands up and climbs upstairs to Esther's room.

Esther who is lying on her bed hears a knock and she already know who it is. She thinks for a while and sees how things are going and finds it hard to stand up. She gathers her courage and walks straight to the door and opens it. Brian is standing his arms on his waist and he looks so exhausted that Esther sympathized with him. She lets him in even though she knows he is the only man that was currently getting her in a very pathetic situation that she had never experienced before. She just wanted to get out of all this and atleast have a peaceful sleep because everything was getting out of hand.

Brian sits on her bed as she remains standing next to the door. Each and every time he saw her, something unexplainable just kept on growing inside him and it was pure love. He could not imagine of letting her go this soon and things were just getting good for him. The best part of everything was that Esther too was kind of in love with him and that only was enough to change everything and that includes their past.

As he stays sitted on the bed, he feels Esther's hand on his and opens his eyes to look. Her eyes were so red and she looked like she had had enough. She opens the veil covering her head and lets her hair fall on her shoulder and once more Brian has never seen her this beautiful. She sincerely looked like a goddess and now she was even making him so confused.

"You look beautiful Esther" Brian confesses it this time. It was approaching six o'clock in the evening and it was almost getting dark. Brian sees like she was giving in and he was not prepared to loose her at any cost. He knew that she had nothing to loose at all and this was the time.

"Let's go away Esther, let's just go away, the two of us away from all these" he thought of telling her this and again thought it was too soon. He stands up and decides to go back home.

"I have to get going Esther"

"It's okay, i will be fine" Esther responds to her and lets him pass. He walks slowly and heads out feeling so empty and so lost in love at the same time.

It is now dark and Brian is looking for a cab to go back at his apartment. He was only in the orphanage for a few days but it seemed like weeks because of everything that he has gone through. He looks behind and he stands at a place where he can clearly see Esther's room. Through her windows which are closed but the lights still open. Brian stands his eyes still fixed at Esther's window but she opens it suddenly and pours out a cup of water not knowing Brian was around still looking at her. He tries hiding but Esther senses something in the darkness though she cant see anything. Seh closes the window and after some minutes her lights go off.

Brian is lucky to find a car and takes it straight home. He arrives at his apartment thirty minutes later feeling so tired and totally exhausted. As he walks through the corridor he notices the old woman missing in her normal spot though her belongings were still there which was very rare. He opens his house and enters in, finally he is back home and feels a little relieved. What awaits him is also a headache to him because he did not give enough reason not to report to work and had not made any contact with his boss. He sits the seat and almost falls asleep. Brian doses off on his chair and is woken up by the bright lights of his curtain.

Looking at his watch he again realises that hebis late for work but he has no other option but to report to work since he cannot risk his job yet he does not know what awaits him already. He rushes to his bathroom and takes a shower trying to remember everything that had happened the day before and everything just seemed unrealistic to him. He walks out and makes a cup of tea ready to go to work.
