Chapter Fifteen

710 Words
As I stepped out of the animal hospital, the sky was heavy with impending rain, mirroring the pain inside me. The day had been long, filled with the comforting routine of tending to furry patients, yet my thoughts lingered on Zavier and the unanswered questions that gnawed at me. I quickened my pace, the wind whipping strands of hair across my face as if urging me forward. Each step echoed with the urgency of my heart, pounding in sync with the approaching storm. I needed answers, closure, anything to soothe the ache that nestled deep within me. I needed to know why he left what I had done wrong to cause him to leave had he only used me As I reached the doorsteps of our duplex , I paused, inhaling deeply, preparing myself for the confrontation that lay ahead "Zavier," I called out, beating on the door of his apartment, my voice trembling “please open the door”. I called out to him. I heard the lock snap, and the door opened wide zavier standing there staring at me shirtless. I crossed the room in determined strides, each movement a silent declaration of my resolve. "We need to talk," I stated, my words ringing with a clarity born of desperation. His eyes met mine, a storm raging behind the mask of composure he wore. "Zora, I—" he began, his voice faltering as if struggling to find the right words amidst the turmoil of our shared past. I cut him off, the words tumbling from me in a torrent of emotion. "That night, Zavier. You left without a word, without an explanation," I accused, the weight of unanswered questions heavy upon my heart. His expression softened, a flicker of regret dancing in the depths of his gaze. "I know, Zora. I'm sorry," he murmured, his voice a whisper against the gathering storm. But apologies were not enough to staunch the wounds that festered within me, wounds born of his absence, his silence. "Sorry isn't enough," I retorted, the bitterness of my words echoing in the cavernous space between us. Silence descended, a heavy shroud that enveloped us both in its embrace. Thunder rumbled in the distance, a harbinger of the storm that raged within our midst. As the first raindrops fell, I knew that the tempest brewing inside would not be quelled so easily. For beneath the tumult of our shared past lies the truth waiting to be uncovered, waiting to set us free. And as the storm rages on, I was ready to face whatever lies ahead. “Prove to me, you're sorry if you're really Sorry, stop trying to think for me. I thought you liked me”. I could tell he was upset, but I didn't care he had broken my heart he gave me the most amazing night ever. Then, Just left me. Zavier walked up to me and pulled me into a hug while tears cascaded down my face. “I'm sorry princess I won't do it again I'm here I'm all yours I've been hurt and to save myself I left I didn't Think about your feelings and that's was wrong of me”. Zavier I leaned down and kissed her, wiping away her tears. I couldn't believe I had hurt her this much, and I wasn't gonna do this again. I cared about her. I guess you could say that from the first time I met her, there had been this magic pull to her. In that dress, she was a symphony of grace and elegance, each movement a dance of poetry in motion. The fabric clung to her form like a second skin, revealing glimpses of the woman beneath—a woman of strength, of resilience, of unspoken desires. Her laughter echoed in the cavernous depths of my mind, a melody that stirred dormant echoes of longing within me. How I wished I could freeze that moment in time, to bask in the radiance of her presence, to etch her smile into the tapestry of my existence. "What can I do to prove to you I want you that i wont leave again?" I asked her. She looked up at me "Take me on a real date".
