"Would you like a tour". I asked her "Of course" she started smiling As Zora stepped into my humble abode, I greeted her, a warm smile crossing my lips as my faithful service dog wagged his tail in excitement. "Hi Tom you look so good" She patted Tom's head "He got his paperwork in today he's officially my emotional support" Tom jumped up and licked Zavier's face I couldn't stop the smile on my face. Navigating through the living room, I pointed out the carefully chosen décor, each piece reflecting a story or memory. "Here's where I unwind," I remarked, gesturing to the comfortable seating arrangements that accommodated both my needs and my dog's. In the kitchen, I showcased the adaptive tools and modifications that made cooking and meal prep manageable with my disability. "This is where culinary adventures happen," I chuckled, recalling the trials and errors that led to creating accessible spaces. As we ascended the stairs, I shared anecdotes about adapting to daily life after losing my left arm in the army. "Upstairs is where I find peace," I reflected, showing her the personalized touches that made my bedroom a sanctuary. In the master bedroom, I explained how everything was meticulously arranged for convenience and comfort, from the adjustable bed to the accessible wardrobe. "This is where I recharge," I said, patting the spot where my dog often kept me company. Finally, we stepped onto the balcony, where I relished the tranquility and serenity of the surroundings. "And here's where I find solace," I murmured, soaking in the view with a mixture of gratitude and nostalgia. She joined me on the balcony and looked at the town lights. She looked over at me and that's when she noticed that next door was empty. "who lives over there" she asked her curiosity peaked "No one I own it" Zora stood before me, her eyes shimmering with a mixture of uncertainty and determination. The air between us crackled with an unspoken tension, as if the universe itself held its breath, waiting for her words to weave their magic. "Zavier," she began, her voice soft yet resolute, "there's something I need to ask you." I watched her, captivated by the raw vulnerability etched upon her features. There was a gravity to her presence, a silent plea echoing in the depths of her gaze. "I've been thinking a lot lately," she continued, her words hanging in the air like delicate petals on the brink of release. "About the future". Her confession stirred something within me, a primal instinct that yearned to draw her closer, to envelop her in the warmth of my embrace. "And?" I prompted, my voice barely above a whisper, afraid that any sudden movement might shatter the fragile equilibrium between us. Zora took a step forward, bridging the gap between us with courage born of conviction. "I want to live next door, Zavier," she confessed, her words imbued with a quiet intensity that left me breathless. The weight of her declaration hung in the air, casting a spell that defied rationality. At that moment, the world seemed to fade into insignificance, leaving only her and me amidst the vast expanse of possibility. Her eyes held mine, searching for reassurance amidst the tumult of emotions that threatened to engulf us. And in that silent exchange, I found solace—a shared understanding that transcended the boundaries of words. A smile tugged at the corners of my lips as if to acknowledge the unspoken truth that had lingered between us all along. "Then let us carve a future from the fragments of our dreams," I whispered my voice a promise etched upon the tapestry of our shared destiny. And as we stood there, bathed in the glow of newfound revelation, I knew that whatever challenges lay ahead, we would face them together, bound by the unbreakable bond of love. Moving Day Zoras pov "Mom, Dad!" I call out eagerly, practically bouncing on my toes as they enter the doorway, their eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Guess what? I'm moving in just next door to Zavier!" Their expressions light up in unison, mirroring my excitement. With their help, the mundane task of moving boxes and furniture transforms into a joyous occasion filled with laughter and shared anticipation for the adventures that lie ahead. I stand at the threshold of my new home, a small but cozy apartment just a stone's throw away from Zavier's place. The anticipation bubbles within me like a fizzy soda, making me jittery with excitement. This move signifies a new chapter, a step closer to something more with Zavier. As I step inside, the walls echo with possibility, and I can already envision the memories waiting to be made. As we unpack, I can't help but feel grateful for their unwavering support. With every item carefully placed, my new apartment starts to feel more like home—a home where Zavier's proximity adds an extra layer of warmth and excitement to every corner. Today marks the beginning of something wonderful, and I couldn't be more thrilled to embark on this journey, with Zavier just a heartbeat away.
