When we went home, Bax went off to do some work in his office, and I went into the library to try to clear my head. I sat down at the large wooden desk, surrounded by shelves filled with books, most of which I had already read. As I flipped through the pages of one of them, trying to focus on how I could draw in all the book's information, my mind wandered back to the conversation I had just had with Lucian. His words echoed in my mind, warning me of the dangers that still lurked out there. I shouldn't let his words get to me. I had nothing to fear, anything that came at me. I was stronger than it and would be able to protect myself, but for some reason, I couldn't shake the feeling. I let out a sigh, leaning back in my chair as I did a book called to me making me turn to the shelves. I
