I knew what I had to do. Once I found out I was pregnant, I had to learn how to control and use my powers so I could protect my children. I could no longer risk anything, but most of all, I couldn’t let my powers overtake me anymore. If I let them, there was a chance I could slip into the darkness, and I would fail my children.
I began my training every day without fail. Pearl offered to help me, and even though she didn’t have the powers that I did, she still understood more than I did. We met at Draw every morning, a time when the world was at peace, and anything seemed possible.
