Chapter Thirteen Since Ben had eaten prime rib without any drama the night before at the gala, I knew I didn’t have to worry about avoiding red meat for our dinner. Pot roast seemed a little prosaic for a Valentine’s Day meal, so instead I bought a couple of New York steaks, figuring I would cook them in the sous vide machine Tom and I had bought ourselves as a Christmas present a few years back.
